  • I don't think Tyson is stronger. Liston was extremely physically strong for his size, was bigger than Tyson framewise, with bigger hands and wrists. Also keep in mind that Tyson never exhibited great strength in the clinch. Tyson had many gifts but great strength was not one of them. He just LOOKED like one of the strongest guys to get into the ring.
    Thats exactly what I'm saying.

Tyson has got bigger breasts than Liston so I'll give you that.

Although Liston is built much bigger than Mike, just smaller ****!

        • Liston was built longer, not bigger. Tyson often weighed about 10-12 pounds more than Liston in prime fighting shape, and his arms were far bigger around. His neck was thicker, and he had more leverage in his compact frame. Liston just had more reach. Even though I think Tyson could win this matchup, here's what Butterfly will do because it's going to be a Liston vs. Ali final:

Liston has been pounding people into the ground, and walking through punches. Against Tyson, he'll suddenly use his monkey-armed jab like Ali to keep Tyson at a distance, and knock his block off. He'll probably win in 4-5 fights. While this goes completely against both fighter's styles, butterfly will do anything to make Liston win this matchup. Given their work rates, and their styles, this would NOT end up like Foreman vs. Frazier, but that's what butterfly will give you.

Liston was almost a bigger quitter than Tyson, so heart won't be too much of a factor here. We also have to pretend that niether Don King, nor the mob will be involved. Even so, it will be a joke series, which is a shame given how much fun this has been.

          • Liston bigger than Tyson? Hah! Not even when he had breasts against Patterson. Tyson had a bigger neck, biceps and arms, his chest is bigger etc, only thing that you may be right about is Tyson's calves, Liston's were bigger. Tyson was huge for his size, Liston was BIG for his size.

Anyway, cool to see this is still going on. Im lookinf forward to the next matches.

Hello, and welcome to Sam Houston Coliseum, where George Foreman and Muhammad Ali will fight to try to take a decisive 3-2 lead. Foreman was 221½, and Ali was 207, acoording to this tale of the tape.

                  George Foreman

                  age: 24
                  height: 6'-4"
                  weight: 221½
                  reach: 81"
                  record: 38-0-0 (35ko)

                  Muhammad Ali

                  age: 25
                  height: 6'-3"
                  weight: 207
                  reach: 83"
                  record: 29-0-0 (23ko)

And now Muhammad Ali is coming in to the ring wearing a white robe. Muhammad goes in to the ring and shadowboxes. some people cheer when he comes.

George Foreman comes in the 40,000 screaming fans show their appreciation. foreman is wearing a red robe.

Michael Buffer: Ladiiiiies and geeentlemeeen, introducing, from houston, texas, wearing white trunks with red trim, he stands six feet three, he weighs two hundred seven pounds, he is the greatest, muhamaaad aaaliiii!!(a few cheers could be heard among the fans) and his opponent, also from houston, he's wearing red trunks with blue trim, he stands six foot four, he weighs two hundred twenty one and a half pounds, "biiiiiiiiiiiiiig" geooooooooorge fooooooooooooremaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!(70,000 people scream hysterically)

here is the referee mark conn giving the instructions.

conn: alright boys, you know the rules of the texas state athletic boxing commision. i want a good clean fight, remember to protect yourself at all times, any questions? ok, good luck.

                  There is no clear favorite.

Round 1: Ali circles and pops his jab and he does some aggressive moving like he did with liston back in 1965 in Lewiston, Maine. he keeps jabbing and landing his conbinations, while foreman follows him around the ring. ali moves in with lightning speed and gets in rapid-fire combos and moving out to avoid foreman's big bombs. foreman gets some right hands in, but Ali walks through them and cleanly wins the round.

Round 2: Ali circles once again and is lightning fast as he sits on his punches and one-two's foreman to death. foreman's head snaps back, but foreman still presses on and lands some jabs and then a straight right, but most of his shots are missing big time! Foreman looks like a fool as Ali uses his superior head movemnet to avoid foreman's blows and ali throws a left and right hook to the body followed by a left and right hook to the head and quickly moves out of range. foreman gets a bit frustrated, and ali takes advantage of this by talking to foreman.

Round 3: Ali uses the same game plan, but he throws more punches. he still is moving, for he knows that one punch from foreman could end it. foreman is a bit weary but still manages to get ali on the ropes and land some good body blows and ali just covers up. when foreman backs off, ali is a bit winded from taking those shots, but he still moves and throws jabs and wins this round.

Round 4: Foreman looks sloppy as he misses huge left hook like Sonny Liston did against Cassius Clay back in 1964 in Miami Beach. ali looks great as he circles the ring with great speed and now carries the attack to his opponent. foreman doesn't know what to do. he is tired and is not landing clean blows like before. ali decides to make this a cruising round.

Round 5: Ali decides to step it up on his breathless opponent. he lands some hard shots tro the jaw and stun foreman. foreman fights back, but it is no use, as his blows lack the fire power that it usually has. Ali keeps throwng body hooks and follows it up with left and rights to the jaw. foreman cannot get off in this fight. Ali is confident and throws a lot of punches and foreman looks well spent.

Round 6: Ali now is patient and picks his shots carefully.he makes foreman miss some huge blows and throws a fast four punch combination. a left jab, a right cross, a left uppercut and overhand right and foreman goes down! foreman is up at the count of seven and fights back, showing his heart. ali, however has a big heart, too and is right on him throwing five consecutive left hooks on his tired opponent as big george goes down again! foreman is up at nine to face the inevitable. Ripping punches by Muhammad Ali and foreman goes down for the ten count, and it's all over! Ali takes a 3 to 2 series lead and will try to close out the series at home in the Astrodome.

Michael Buffer: The winner at 2:40 of the sixth round via ko, Muhammaaad Aaaliiii!

Ali: I'ma win the next game and go after Jack Dumbsey!(lol, that's Ali for you!)

well, Ali has won. Now let's go on over to The Garden.

                    age: 21
                    height: 5'-11"
                    weight: 227
                    reach: 71"

                    reach: 76"
                    record: 56-1-0 (50ko)

Tyson is really out of shape and doesn't seem to care, while Louis is prepared and focused. Joe Louis now comes through the ring and a few cheers could be heard. and now tyson comes in and the crowd goes wild. over 80,000 people came here to see him fight.

michael buffer: Ladies and gentlemen, presenting 15 rounds of boxing, lllllets get reaaady to ruumbllllllllle. introducing, from detroit, michigan, he's wearing silver trunks with black trim, he stands six feet two, he weighs two hundred and five pounds, jooooeee loouissssss! and his opponent, from catskill, new york, he's wearing black trunks, he stands five feet eleven, he weighe two twenty-seven, miiiiiiike tyyyyyysonnnnnnnn!

conn: alright, now i want a good clean fight. protect yoursef at all times. three knockdown rule is waived, so is the standing 8-count, go to a neutral corner upon scoring a KD, break when i tell you to break. a fighter will not be saved by the bell when knocked down, except for the final round. ok? shake hands.

Round 1: Tyson comes out bobing a bit, and louis is in his perfect stance. louis lands a right and a left and tyson takes them and starts swingimg punches of his own. Louis quickly avoids them and counters with dynamite packed shots. louis continues on the slow and sluggish mike and lands some short body blows. louis lands a steady barrage of punches in the round.

Round 2: Louis comes out and is patient, landing his jab well. tyson looks frustrated and halfhearted. louis is hit with a good right, but he continues. louis gets tyson against the ropes and hurts him. tyson cannot take the severe punishment and just crumbles to the canvas. he is up at 5, and louis continues, but the bell saves tyson.

Round 3: Louis comes out like a madman and lands good body and head shots that stuns tyson. louis lands about 15 unanswered punches and tyson goes down! tyson cannot beat the count. It's all over. Mike Tyson is beaten in three rounds!

buffer: The winner at 0:56 seconds of the third round, Joooe Louuisss!

The crowd is again stunned. Louis looks pretty happy. Now he, like Ali has a chance to close out the series on his home terf in Detroit, Michigan.

And that will do it folks! Once again the final scores are Part1-ali ko6, and Part2-louis ko3. This is butterfly1964 saying goodnight!
