butterfly1964: What's your game plan for tonight?

dempsey: The same as always. I'll catch up with him sooner ar later.

butterfly: What about the conference finals. who would you rather meet should you beat Johnson, Ali or Foreman?

dempsey: Well, to tell you the truth, I'd rather fight Ali, cause that George Foreman is just crazy! but I'll be glad to meet Foreman, should he win, nontheless.

        butterfly: Thank you, Jack.

        dempsey: The pleasures all mine.

Dempsey seems sure of himself. Here's the tale of the tape.

Hi, and Welcome to Convention Hall in Philadelphia, PA, for the fourth and possibly final meeting between Sonny Liston and Rocky Marciano in the eastern Conference. Today, Liston was in phenominal shape at 206, and Rocky was 190. Earlier, I had a chance to interview Marciano.

butterfly1964: Well, Rocky, how will you stave off elimination?

marciano: I have to keep pounding the body and avoiding his shots. I promise that I will win. I feel great about this. I'm in great shape, and I know I can't lose.

          butterfly1964: Thank you Rock.

Can Rocky make good on his prediction? lets see the tale of the tape.

          Sonny Liston

          age: 28
          height: 6'-1"
          weight: 206
          reach: 84"
          record: 28-1-0 (18ko)

          Rocky Marciano

          age: 30
          height: 5'-11"
          weight: 190
          reach: 67"
          record: 45-0-0 (40ko)

Now Marciano makes his way to the ring, and a few boos could be heard, while he walks down the aisle. and Liston comes in and 50,000 fans show their appreciation for the Big Bear. He is the 30 to 1 favorite to beat marciano. now here is michael buffer.

michael buffer: Ladies and gentlemen, introducing, from brockton, MA wearing solid black trunks, standing five eleven, weighing one hundred ninety pounds, The Brockton Blockbuster Roockyyy Maarcianooo!!! Marcianoo!! and his opponent, from Philadelphia, PA wearing black trunks with white trim, he stands six feet one, weighing two ooooh, six, The Biiig Beeaaaar, Chaaaaaarrles Sooonnnnnnnny Liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiistooooooooooooon! Liiiiiistoooooooon! (the crowd applaudes Sonny) 15 rounds!

conn: protect yourself at all times. in the event of a knockdown, i want you to go to the farhtest neutral corner until I tell you to come out. three knockdown rule is waived. any questions? ok, shake hands.

Round 1: Marciano is in his croutch, and he tries to press the fight, but liston keeps him away with his jab. liston lands his straight right well, and marciano manages to get a goog suzieq in that liston takes. liston is jabbing and jabbing and throwing the occasional straight right and marciano is taking the punches. liston lands a big right hand and marciano is down! marciano is up at four and they continue. liston is now teeing off at rocky's head, and marciano is just laying on the ropes trying to survive the round and he doess.

Round 2: Liston keeps using his jab and rocky cannot land a punch because his arms are too short, so he starts hitting his arms to try and weaken them, but liston ties marciano up and pushes him off. marciano's eyes are puffy from the punishment he is taking. marciano lands a big right hand that liston basically walks though and throws a one-two-three combination that staggers marciano. liston again is pummeling marciano and marciano just slumps down on the canvas. the referee begins the count and marciano is up at nine. liston continues with lighning speed and gets a left hook and a right to a body and a left lead to the chin and marciano cannot get up this time. liston moves on to the Eastern Conference Finals to face either Joe Louis or Mike Tyson!

michael buffer: The winner by a technical knockout at 1:55 of the second round, Sooonnyyyyyy Liiiiiiisstooooooooon!(the crowd is estatic as liston wins in four straight games)

liston: Now I'm gonna destroy that ***** Mike Tyson!
