Just doing some research on Langford and came across this,

One story characterizing his career involved Langford in a bout where he had been ordered not to throw any knockout punches until after the 7th round. So walking out for the 8th round, after 21 minutes of patting away, Langford touched gloves with his opponent. "What's the matter, Sam, it ain't the last round!" said his mystified opponent. "Tis for you son," said Langford, who promptly knocked his opponent out. Another story involves Langford at a fight where just before it began he apologized to the audience and said he would have to make it a quick fight as he had a train to catch very soon. He then knocked out his opponent within the first round, apologized to the audience once again and left, just in time to catch his train.

Well first and foremost I disagree that Hagler was a super slow starter. Against Ray Leonard he started very slowly as IMO he was expecting an easy nights work.

Secondly, I wouldn't consider Gene Fullmer to be a "brutal puncher" like I said previously Fullmer can punch, but he's not a concussive puncher. There is no way he KO's Hagler in 5 rounds and in a 15 round fight I would bet that if anyone's getting stopped its Fullmer late. That said, I'd predict it to go all the way as both are two of the most durable MW's of all time.

I also disagree that Fullmer "virtually murdered Benny Paret".

Roy Jones fought 20 bouts at 160, besides Bernard and Toney he fought no one of interest!
By all means which four great Middleweight Champs did he fight?
Other than Jorge Castro the rest were unmentionables.

You need to realize I was very involved at this time in boxing and saw many of these fighters fight multiple times. I worked for a world wide match maker and covered the eastern seaboard of the States and went to Europe multiple times. Your reading off boxrec and I'm trying to remember when and where.

Sonnyboy you have a lot to learn about people in general.

          good nite, dinner time.

LOL it gets better by the day from you, I don't believe a single word you say or make claim. Your forgetting i caught you out, when you made claims of traing Mike Tyson at age 15yrs. I have caught you out repeatedly for the lying toe-rag which you are. Your a Walter Mitty character. You cannot even see the 4 world champions on Roy Jones middleweight record. :blow: such is your knowledge of boxing. Marvin Hagler had 50 fights at 160lb without fighting 4 world champions. Your a bluffer Ray, but not with me buddy.

Your claiming Roy Jones when fighting at 160lb middleweight, fought no-one of interest LOL.. Jones fought 4 world champions, one of them going on to be a Hall of Famer... Compared to Marvin Hagler's record, Jones record at 160lbs looks impressive. Hagler fought a bunch of tomato cans. Marvin Hagler was notorious for his "Dirty Tactics" head-butting, thumbing, head-rubbing etc. Hagler was known throughout the boxing world for those tactics. Hagler admitted he used such tactics, almost being proud of it. Kevin Finnigan twice had Hagler beaten, only to lose out to Haglers fouling tactics. Vito Antuofermo was butted out of his title challenge. Marvin Hagler only ever fought weak opposition. Roberto Duran had fought over 80 fights by the time he challenged Hagler, yet lost out in a close fight. Sugar Ray Leonard having only his second fight in 5yrs easily wipped Hagler for the title. Hagler talked tough, But Ray Leonard said, "He don't scare me, i'm taller than him, bigger than him, faster than him and a better fighter than him"... Hagler won the WBC/WBA 160lb title from Alan Minter. He defended against very weak opposition and fighters from the lower weight classes.Yet there was excellent fighters in the 160 division denied a title fight. Herol Graham, Mike McCallum, Michael Nunn, Michael Olajide, Iran Barkley, James Kinchen, Lindell Holmes, Bobby Czyz, Don Lee, Doug DeWitt.. Hagler was offered career-high payday to move up to 175 to fight Dwight Braxton. Yet wanted non of it. Marvin Hagler was a good fighter, But not in the league of Robinson, Langford, Cerdan, Fullmer, Monzon, Steele, LaMotta, Jones, Toney etc.. Excuses of being old, catching him at the right time etc etc. have been used to describe his performace against Ray Leonard LOL the bottom line is: "That's as good as Marvin ever was"..

..."Jones fought 4 world champions, one of them going on to be a Hall of Famer"... ..........................do they have names? Or is this another part of your delusional imagination?

I never said I trained Mike Tyson EVER! I worked pads with Mike AT Cus's gym when Mike was about 14 years old. Again at Goveners Isle at a Junior Olympic show. Watched him spar with Lewis and worked a heavy bag with him all when he was a Junior Olympic competitor when I was the Team Coach USA/ABF Region One.

If I show an article stating I was the Conn. State Junior Olympic Chairman and Region One coach will YOU leave the forum?

As far as Claims go.......didnm't you post that YOU met Tyson and assked him if he remembered Me?
Remember when Tyson visited England or Mars or where ever yoiyur from you little jackazz!

Take the bet sonnyboy..............elroy & juggy didn't because they know it would be bye bye for them.

Stop BS people here and grow up Hagler & Lewis are top tier guys in the history of the sport. Grow up!

Correction: you never established any claim against Ray, or any other poster regarding any allegation. Your lying again. You may have a grudge against a poster but you do not have the right to slander them. Again, you have never to date, established any allegation regarding any poster here, with one exception.

The exception is YOU. You have been shown to be lying. You obviously lied about a film collection, you lied about a meeting taking place in Europe with Tyson, etc.

Do not slander people on the board please, thank you have a nice day Sonny.
