Both McCall & Rahman was two mediocre journeymen, who never before or after KOing Lewis did they ever replicate such a KO performance again. it all points to Lewis having very weak whiskers, which is why he was kept away from so many fighters who was "At the Top of their Game"... i have always asked the question to other boxing fans, "Who did Lewis ever fight who was at the top of their Game".. and the answer i always get is Michael Grant ... Who did Mike Tyson fight who was "At the top of their Game"..

    Tony Tucker 34-0
    Tyrell Biggs 15-0
    Frank Bruno 32-2 (32)
    Michael Spinks 31-0
    Carl Williams 22-2
    Alex Stewart 26-1
    Razor Ruddock 25-1

Lennox Lewis was vastly overrated and avoided every top fighter throughout the 1990s.. To claim Undisputed Heavyweight Champion Rid**** Bowe avoided Lewis is rubbish..its like claiming Wlad Klitschko is avoiding Tyson Fury and that Fury will only fight Wlad if he gets a 50/50 shake.
well,,,,his chin was obviously part of the problem but hes beaten and been hit by much bigger punchers than either rahman and mcall and avenged the losses in quite easy fashion which leads me to belieive that a big part of the problem was a lack of respect for them. its a hell of alot easier to kayo an opponent that is looking past you and not repsecting your power.
anyway,,,if it makes you feel better id have slightly favored a young prime tyson by kayo over lewis. tyson was a beast at his best without a doubt and could get low and bob n weave under lewis's punches and counter. the tyson lennox beat up had none of that great upper body movement and couldnt put punches together in bunches anymore. I dont think anyone should use that fight to gauge how it would have went down with a young prime mike. it would have bee a different fight imo

Lewis' chin is very underrated. He fought the largest assortment of big power punchers of any HW champ in history and beat all of them.

Sonny Boy with the haterade....Who did Lewis beat? Well forget that for a moment and lets look at his "weak weak" chin....which took the best shots of a heavyweight with one of the highest Ko percentages ever.... lewis never was buckled by Vitali, he as also hit by prospects like Brigg, when they were in good form, and was not buckled.

Sonny Boy your haterade taste really bad.

You have to give Lewis credit for derailing many fighters who were considered quite good... Fighters like Morrison, Tua, Grant, Briggs, Golata, etc. People have short memories but virtually all the above, and more fighters, were considered top prospects who were all going to take Lewis down.

Well, I'd say Lewis was actually buckled in both those fights.

But hey, that's not a reason behind having a weak chin. People act as if you have a weak chin if a full blown 245 lbs man hits you straight on the chin and you buckle. Just step back and think about how weird that is.

People who have a weak chin are guys like Richard Towers who gets knocked clean out by a whiff of a shot. Lewis had a hard chin.

Every heavyweight champion in history has gone down at some point or another. It happens in boxing. Vitali hasn't been down, but if Lewis had fought the level of opposition Vitali had fought, I doubt he'd go down either.

oh,,,no doubt he beat alot of good dangerous fighters. im not denying that. I think his resume was very good but I dont agree that it craps all over tyson's. I dont think there resumes were that far apart like many seem to think

lennox was actually rocked pretty good by vitali and briggs but he stayed on his feet and won the fight. obviously if he had a glass jaw hed have been stopped. I think his chin was quite descent but I cant agree with it being strong or like granite. his chin wasnt his strong point but it was good enough and he made up for it with skill and big power

yea,,,,seems like if a fighter goes down or gets stopped by a big puncher hes automatically labeled as being weak chinned. lewis walked into big punches twice in his career. when you walk into a heavweight punch your chances of finishing the fight are pretty slim. lennox didnt have a weak chin. it wasnt ali or marciano like but it was descent enough to beat alot of big punchers

Why do you want to forget for a moment "Who Lewis beat that was at the top of their game?"... c'mon Bill, spit it out mate...

For you to claim Lewis was never buckled by Briggs or Vitali is laughable, your credibility on this forum is now completely shot!.. You are making it up as you go along, in a desperate attempt to hide facts.. i was in attendance for Lewis vs McCall (1) and when Lewis left the ring 5/6 minutes after being counted out, he had to be helped down the ring steps by his brother on unsteady legs. As Lewis and his team passed by me, i could see his eyes were still glass and that he was out of it. I was there to support Lewis, But as i came away i knew that any time Lennox ever fought another fighter who was "At the Top of their Game" like McCall was. That he would get knocked out.. Lennox carried on boxing for another 9yrs fighting old hasbeens & junkies, and staying away from all the top fighters. Hasim Rahman a journeyman poleaxed him, then he sc****d a victory against Vitali Klitschko to go out on a high. But the Lewis team knew all about his faults as did Manny Stewart. Which is why they refused to fight the likes of No1 contenders, John Ruiz, Chris Byrd & Corrie Sanders. Lewis and his team even dropped the championship belts rather than risk facing a fighter who was "At the Top of his Game"... The enjoyed nothing better than fighting Junkies!
