Frazier didn't have Rock's same power I would say. I also wouldn't say Rocky was a plodding fighter. He had a methodical shuffle step that always enabled him to be set to throw for maximum damage. It impacted his mobility, sure, but also allowed him to throw from very unexpected angles with authority. He had a left hook he could double up and even triple up very effectively. He was the definition of a two handed fighter because his right separated people from their senses if he landed it flush.

Pertaining to Ali, Watch the Moore fight. Rocky had highly underrated timing. Moore was defensively very good and although faded by the time that fight happened you'll notice in some of their classic exchanges, Rock would wait a fraction of a second after Moore tried to slip to the side and fire the long left hook.. Then he would time Moore defense and offensive release and fire a long RIGHT hook. ( A challenging punch to throw with proficiency!)It was the equivalent of a broadside in naval military terms. He repeated this for a classic volley across the ring where Moore was valiantly fighting but being out gunned and out angled.This tactic just battered Moore.

Rocky's ability to fire to 2-3 o'clock... Then PIVOT and fire to 9-10 o'clock with fluidity and grace and destruction was just superb. You can see him do this when he kd Ezz Charles in the second fight. Slipped the left hook? here comes the right from an angle unexpected! Marciano was NOT intimidated by a give and take, or by the size of his opponent... Walcott and others had size on him.

He was a bruiser. As with Lastarza, He could fire a lazy left, come in for what the opponent assumes may be a clinch, but turn over the overhand right. He lands that overhand, and it's good night. Rock could throw a mean 3,4, 5.. Or 4,3, 6! As well. This also could be trouble for the taller Ali, who tends to have a bad habit of leaving his chin in the air.

So yeah, as I said... I would favor 60's Ali to stay on the perimeter use that excellent jab and do what Lastarza couldn't do in the first fight. But to completely discount Rocky Marciano is not advisable.

First off Ray, it's not that Ali didn't actually beat most of these guys, it's simply that of the key ones he beat either he actually LOST and was gifted, or there were some very farcial circumstances involved in order to get the win.

Once you knock all these out, you find that of the remaining 80% of his career, he beat up on guys who would simply have no business today in the sport of boxing at all!!

Today we would be even more appalled by the peformances and competition of Ali than we are of Deontay Wilder!!

This is one of the MAIN ammunition of the nutbaggery movement..

You should ALWAYS watch Ali's complete fights for an accurate assessment..

99% of guys listening to nutbaggery have never seen Ali's whole fights, just some clips like this (which in reality are pretty bummy anyway it's just the unsuspecting viewer is CONNED into believing he is watching some kind of masterful boxing)..

In this way it is possible to convey complete fallacies such as Ali having reflexes etc..

And the nutbaggery knows that because Ali's fights in full are so long and boring it's a safe bet nobody will sit through them to learn the truth..

But I strongly urge all viewers to force themselves through the torturous career of Ali again, watching him grind out wins against ridiculous opponents that any modern HW would knock out with 1 punch. After this I assure you you will be forever "cured" of the nutbag curse and will be able to dismiss this clown once and for all, concentrating on REAL boxers.

Remember, the only way to destroy the nutbaggery is to arm yourself with the knowledge. You have to be able THINK like the nut bag thinks, to put yourself into the darkest depths of the nutbag mind in order to expose them for what they really are...

Well you have to put yourself in my shoes..

For me there are really no real people giving me any grief at all. Just a bunch of complete and utter nut bags who'se opinions and insults are less than worthless.

You cannot treat the words of the nutbaggery the same way as you do REAL people.

I am sure a colony of ants hate me too when I hose them off my driveway, flooding their homes, drowning them out. Do I let that keep me up at night?
