If Golovkin or any other fighter goes through five divisions, their KO percentage is going to fall. They likely won't even be successful if they move up in that way.
Mayweather is beating fighters in higher divisions than what he started in. He's as also not running when he's doing it. Unless you think KO's are the end all and be all, there should be nothing boring about that in my opinion. Unless you are not getting the end result that you want.

I don't think you necessarily have to knock out a guy with a good chin to prove you have power, not least because the capacity to hit a really good fighter with 100% of your best shot is very very hard to do. Indeed Stevens landed some good punches on Golovkin but he never landed that left hook at 100% and flush. Essentially the ability to land your best punch is a matter of skill thus Stevens' limited ability is unlikely to knock out the better guys and it is usually the better fighters who have the best chins, not always of course, but usually. It is obvious that Stevens left hook is a huge punch, even if the guys he has hit 100% and flush with it have been extremely mediocre fighters with perhaps suspect chins. I don't think though that it is as easy to distinguish between poor chins and poor defence/skill as people always suggest.
Golovkin's defence looks above average to me, indeed I think it looks pretty good. The real key to defence is anticipation, he uses his legs well to get just out of the way of shots and he is very good at parrying and blocking with his arms, shoulder and gloves. He doesn't move his head a great deal to slip many punches, and that may be an issue against the very best in the division but the other elements in his defence are perhaps sufficient to do the job. Not every good defence has to have great head movement.
Golovkin's opposition has been fairly limited but look what he has done to them, the fact that people are criticizing him for getting hit with a few shots is evidence of his quality, he has barely lost a round in a number of fights now and has been stopping all of these guys very comprehensively. When the clouds are dark and black you don't really need to wait until it actually rains to know it is going to rain.
