Agreed he might could punch for his size but not by heavyweight standards. Also I think a prime Toney or Roy Jones would beat him. If a 40 year old Moore gave him trouble then why not Roy Jones or James Toney? I would pick various slick boxing light heavyweights to beat Rocky Marciano as well.

Apparently yes, which seems to have spilled over from NSB. We could make it a contest with some kind of poll. Who would you vote for?

Lol yeah because I know Rocky Marciano is overrated and only gets played up because of his race means I don't know boxing. No if you think a 5 '10 180 pound fighter like Rocky Marciano would beat , Foreman, Tyson, Lewis, Holyfield, Bowe, Tua, Ibeabuchi, Mercer, Ruddock, either Klitschko brother, ect ect ect then you don't know boxing.

I will present the facts. It is up to you whether you want to accept or dismiss them.

Last time I checked, raw stats were not spam! It's closer to news!

What facts? When did you start to present anything that hadn't been long up your ass? That's not facts.

                  2. The vast majority of his fighters were guys who weighed 180 pounds or less
                  3. The vast majority of the people he beat were either past their prime or washed up.
                  4. He was dropped by 1 punch by the 150 to 160 pound Archie Moore so why would you assume he could handle guys like Mike Tyson, George Foreman, Lennox Lewis ect ect ect power?

Don't give me this pound for pound stuff either about his power. If you want to compare him to heavyweights then their is no pound for pound heavyweights.

Don't give me that he could of weighed more but he didn't choose to crap either. If he could of weighed 220 pounds like Tyson carried he would of did and if he did weigh 220 or so he still never faced a modern sized heavyweight in his career.
I object in almost every way to the assumptions of your thread. Rocky was a small heavyweight but that actually makes him all that much greater doesn't it, for a man of his size no one has ever hit that hard, ever. You are obviously someone with an anti Marciano axe to grind. I will say this also, and once only, name me a better chin than Rocky's, you will have to delve into the lighter divisions to even get close to Rocky's. I may sound a bit funny to you if I say that I actually watch Marcianos fights and I watch the films of everyone else as well, it may be a concept you yourself could benefit from, really just watch the bloody films ffs, ever heard the term, "a picture is worth a thousand words" ?..... it is true, ESPECIALLY IN BOXING

Basically it is this sort of thing that really annoys me about the heavyweight division, IT IS THE ONLY DIVISION where this nonsense exists, it is utterly discriminatory, boxing has always been about WEIGHT, we compare every other fighter in every other division based on how heavy fighters are. Nothing you say will ever change the fact that Rocky is an all time great heavyweight, he beat every man he ever faced and you seem to resent that. Sure it could have been possible for Rocky to be knocked out if an African Elephant back kicked Rocky in the jaw with a hind leg, but hey, an Elephant would knock any man out wouldn't it. case closed.

Right Mcgoorty Then you realize Marciano wasn't a heavyweight and never fought any modern sized heavyweights so how does he being 180 pounds makes him better? You aren't that bright are you? Well you are a Marciano fan so the question was rhetorical. If Marciano would of fought modern sized heavyweights took their punch and knocked them you then you can say he was a small heavyweight that proved size didn't matter. But did this happen?

No Marciano was 180 pounds and fought mostly mob controlled set ups and washed up fighters.

Name a heavyweight who had a better chin than Marciano? All of them. Did Marciano get hit by true heavyweights like Foreman, Tyson, Bowe, Tua, Ibeachbuchi, either Klitschko, Razor Ruddock, Tommy Morrison, ect ect ect? But wait since he is white and he is Marciano he could right?

Because Marciano fought blown up middleweight Archie Moore who was pasted his prime, Light heavyweight Ezzard Charles who was past his prime, Cruiserweight Jersey Joe Walcott and Joe Louis who were both past their primes and got dropped by 2 of these fighters clearly he must have the greatest chin of all time right? Yeah only to white Rocky Marciano fans.

Name a modern size heavyweight like McCall, Tua, Foreman, ect ect ect that Marciano knocked out? Wait he never faced a modern sized heavyweight did he ?

No we compare every other division by their weight. We don't say Tommy Hearns could beat Wladimir Klitcshko because we want to believe it. We don't say Pernell Whitaker could beat Antonio Tarver because we want to believe it. And with the exception of Rocky Marciano because he is white I can't think of any other 5'10 short armed 180 fighter who only faced mob controlled fighters and washed up fighters getting credit for them beating true heavyweights in fantasy fighters.

And only white people like you will say Rocky Marciano is a all time great at anything. No black person cares what you think. No other race besides whites care what you think either. Rocky went 49 and 0 yeah that means something because clearly George Foreman.Lennox Lewis , Mike Tyson, Would of all went 20 and 29 facing the people Marciano fought. They would of all been undefeated too.
