Hagler vs RJJ

Hagler is my favorite fighter ever but a prime RJJ is something special. The only way Hagler wins is if he doesn't get frustrated and slowly punishes RJJ in the mid and late rounds. Bad style matchup for Hagler but he's game. I assume this fight will be at middleweight? If so, RJJ will be drained and Hagler is ducking him according to this website.

Collins and liles both wanted the fight badly,,, both retired because they couldnt score a jones fight,,,, I dont know why you say roy couldnt get a collins fight,,,,

That's right. Which is why HBO (and people representing them like Merchant) would want to make their best fighter look good. Just like how Lampley and Kellerman slobber all over Andre Ward now when he fills in for Jones on HBO. I just have a hard time believing that Steve Collins turned down a legit offer to fight Roy. He campaigned hard to get that fight.

I have no idea. Maybe somebody lied to him? The only thing I know for sure is that both Larry Merchant and Roy Jones had contracts with HBO. Just pointing out a possible conflict of interest. And I like Larry Merchant.

While I think Roy could beat both Liles and Collins at the same time, I find it hard to believe that either passed on a legit offer to fight Roy, and I certainly wouldn't accept it as fact because Merchant said it.
