I would have liked to see it. With Pryor's style it is hard to imagine it being a dull fight. Nobody ever beat Pryor until he was already ruined by drugs. I'd pick Leonard, but it would be competitive at least for awhile. -
Yeah pretty much this. What was the deal with this? I saw footage of Pryor challenging Leonard at a press conference but then heard that Pryor turned down the fight. So did neither guy want this fight?Comment

I think itd disappoint to be honest. In Leonards favour.
Pryor wouldnt treat Leonard like he could Arguello. Arguello was great, no doubt. But he was a step below Ray Leonard and considerably smaller.
Even still, he rung Pryors bell a few times early. If he had the speed and youth to follow through, mightve been over.
Too open and predictable yet aggressive to hang with Ray Leonard.

story goes that pryor handled leonard in sparring. compelling story bcuz of how he handled leonard. leonard fights in spurts and pryor would jump on leonard immediately after leonards spurts so it seemed to some probably especially pryor that he would make a competitive opponent for leonard. sparring and fighting are not the same so if the aforementioned story is true then we have to speculate as to how different an actual fight would b versus sparring. i woulda liked to see pryor get the fight and money but after he beat arguello to become a big name fighter, seemed like ray mighta already been having eye trouble. so if theyda fought before pryor fought arguello then pryor woulda had to take a smaller share and if he didnt get past leonard then the arguello fight mighta never happened so well all we can do is wonder.Comment

Pryor - Blackmoore post fight interview he says that Leonard offered him a fight but he wanted more money for it and declined, something along those lines.Comment
