I don't think it really counts but he beat Hitman Hearns amateurly.
He also knocked out Cervantes which is probably one of the better/bigger contenders he's beaten.

If I could pick two Pryor fights to recommend, it would be the Cervantes and the first Arguello fights. I remember watching both of them live and they were very exciting. While he had flaws, Pryor's energy was off the charts.

Do you feel that Bruce Curry could have beaten Aaron?

I always heard that Howard gave Ray problems. Was this most of their sparring sessions?

Cervantes was well past his Prime when Pryor beat him & known not for great power & he still put Pryor down, in his Prime he beats Pryor, & watch Hearns vs. Pryor in the amatuers on Youtube, you can see that Pryor is nearly Physically fully mature at that time & Hearns is clearly several years away from his Physical Prime, in the Pros, Hearns does to Pryor what he did to Duran.

Pryor did not go through the best in his division, yes he beat Cervantes but at the end of his Career & still got knocked down, Mamby was the number 1 contender & Pryor never fought him, instead he takes a bigger money fight against a bigger name who was moving up to his 4th division in Arguello who was not the fighter he was at the lower weights, Pryor did fight D. Johnson rated in the top 5, but Johnson was no where near a good fight, just average & he also put Pryor down, so no Pryor did not go through the best in his division, he fought 95% bums.
