Did not throw as many punchers, did not hit as hard, lacked the foot speed to escape, could not hurt Rocky M. with his punches. Toney would tire out first. He is meat in ANY era. Watch the films!

His technique is something that you might not understand, Rocky picked the style best for him and made use of his short arms and new how to cut off the ring. He wasn't a counter guy, or a good jabber on film . James Toney's jab was average at best ... on film.

By this guy? A novice compared to guys in 70s, no one made midcard with these many obsolete tech and flaws in 70s-80s

They don't fight from range much; they leave themselves open a lot.
A lot of times, they will just throw themselves into the body and not protect themselves.

They use mostly counters when up close; the lateral movement is very basic; they don't seem to be able to punch from range while doing it smoothly; they have to stop then punch most of the time; and their feet are mostly tiptoeing.

And a lot of times they wait for the person to hit them, standing right in front of their opponent. They all had these or multiple of these flaws in this era, because it was all they knew it was the style. "

They even a lot of times looked to seem like they getting ready to dodge as if a football player were ready to run and they looked off balance doing that the person usually didn't counter that they just got away with it, they did that cause they weren't always good at reading where the other person was moving to, on top of they had their hands low doing that
