As for Ruiz he was a legit top 5 Heavyweight who IMO got robbed against Holyfield and would even go on to win a couple more significant fights after Roy whooped him. Wouldn't have been a great win but Roy dominated him.

And you only call them bums because Roy was able to beat them so easily watch there other fights they clearly were stiff competition
Ruiz ??????,.... he got humiliated by a middleweight........ Personally I like Virgil,..... did you miss the bit where I said that Roy would have destroyed Hill even in Hill's prime... I'm trying to tell you that I rate Jones High, but not his resume,...... Ruiz would have need a 75 round fight before he could have caught Roy..... Ruiz is a joke and anybody who lost to him while they were near their prime...... I don't care about who Ruiz fought,..... I've seen him fight, in Marciano's day, John Ruiz would have been a 4 round fighter at best. You are the one who hates the old timers because you say they suck on film,... well so does Ruiz., but far more, his career just proves todays fighters are inferior overall to ths Benny Leonards and Sam Langfords.................... THE END.

I rate Jones higher than DeLaHoya,... but I think the resumes are near to a tie.

But they ARE NOT TONEY and HOPKINS and I don't think you believe that either. The bums I was referring to were the Bottom 3 quarters of Jones's opponents and I did say that they are all guilty of it,........ Jones did fight some other good fighters but they were far from GREAT.
Got news for you the bottom 3 quarters of just about every bodies opponents suck.

Oh and by the way did you look at the ratings for those wins Toney and Hopkins are A and A+ level wins the rest aren't

Bernard Hopkins is still competing and he's a champion, he by far has the best resume in Boxing from anyone in the last decade or two, tied with Lennox Lewis.

Yeah Roy humiliated Ruiz that is an attribute to Roy's greatness. LOL yeah you know how good he would be in the 40s or when ever Marciano fought without even seeing most of the guys fight.

I don't hate old timers, i don't rate them because there isn't enough video

Not so sure about that Dan. He may not have beat them all, but he certainly fought a much tougher group of fighters than Jones did in my opinion.
Oscar fought tougher competition than Roy Jones Jr. Then again, so did Oakland Billy Smith.

We wouldn't argue he has better resume than Roy Jones', would we?

Loss's don't go onto a resume. If you apply for a job and you don't get it, you don't put that on your resume.

Oscar fought a better list of fighters but Roy Jones Jr's resume is certainly better than Oscar's.

I just cannot see how that's possible.

Roy Jones' beating a prime James Toney and Bernard Hopkins just completely and utterly blows Oscar's resume out the water.

I agree, Toney and Hopkins are top notch opponent's but there are other resume's in the mix. and some others were very good too, boxing is alway's about matchups. I'm willing to discuss Jones, but don't ask me to talk anymore about Ruiz, I have made my feelings about his ability known and clear, and nobody will change my mind on that. Jones, I have no set opinion on, recommend to me 4 of his best wins or post them on this thread, I'll gladly watch them, just make sure there is plenty of action. I'm sure you know twice what I know when it comes to Roy. Yeah, good idea, put some Roy on this thread.
