When you watch him it's just mindblowing. Who would you pick to beat him at his peak @lightweight?

Maybe - MAYBE -Whitaker. If there's any footage available of Gans or Leonard, I haven't seen it, so I can't make a judgement on then.

Whitaker is the only person that i have seen who i would favour, and even then its not by much,i feel Duran could grind out a decision against him if the fight was a 15 rounder

I think Pernell would UD him. Not by a wide margin by any stretch though.

Duran, well trained, against a top ranked fighter at 135lbs? Would not lose to anyone!!! Today or yesterday or anyday!!!! 135lbs DURAN (well trained) loses to NO ONE!!!!!!

Mayweather Jr, Marquez, and mentioned before Whitaker.

I think Manny Pacquiao would give him a fight but I'm not sure if I would favor him, although I do think he could win.

I would love to hear an argument about how Marquez could win at lightweight...I mean that. If you could convince me, I'd be really grateful haha.

You would have to give Leonard even-money, IMO. Hell, Ray Arcel built both fighters, & he picked Leonard --- that weighs with me very heavily, & Leonard beat everyone in reaching distance as the Lightweight Champion.

Someone mentioned Williams --- he has my vote to topple Duran, too. Whitaker, I would pick to best Duran. I can't really favour anyone over him beyond those three perhaps, though there are still some near-even matches to be made.

As spectacular as Duran was as a LW (& he absolutely was), this division is, IMO, the steepest in history for producing all-time greats.

You left little else for me to say.I gotta figure Gans has a chance, but with little footage and and a lack of knowledge about his opponents Im hesitant.
