Barker's stock goes up, he did himself and the UK proud. Sergio probably dips a bit in the mythical p4p stocks, here is my take p4p
    1. Mayweather
    2. Pacquaio
    3. Donaire
    4. Ward
    5. Martinez

Lopez as much as i like him just isnt a brilliant fighter, he is lucky he has that power, Olliver seemed to have no legs. Gamboa kills him

Lee looked good vs Vera, a much matured fighter.

Marquez is done, his balance was off and im positive a few years ago he'd have done a job on Nishioka

Also in the UK shame to see Rees vs Matthews end that way, was shaping up to be a good bout

at the time of the stoppage i didn't think barker had a chance to win on the cards. i wasn't really keeping a card, but i did think he won a few rounds, though.
he was doing everything right outside of letting his hands go.

he was covering up very well but i saw some of the stuff sergio was throwing getting through, especially the left hand to the chest/body

Barker was trying to protect himself more than he was trying to win. It definitely was below par for a Martinez fight, and a very forgettable HBO show.

i think they blew the a quarter of the budget for the whole year for non-ppv on bradley and alexander lol

that's just what i heard, anyway.

        it would explain some things

outside of a hell of a chin brian vera doesn't belong anywhere near HBO lol

Since you mentioned this, I'm reminded of when Lampley seemed to be promoting a Lee-Martinez fight. I like Andy Lee but that would be a terrible match up for HBO and boxing. Lee will never be ready for that type of fight.

Im gonna take another look at the fight, too many people are saying it was one sided... plus i was drunk!

I watched on Sky, perhaps i was OR the HBO viewers were swayed...

Since Martinez and Lee have the same promoter (DiBella) and HBO likes this fight, you can pretty much expect it to happen unless Sergio gets a big money fight (not likely).

                • A top P4P fighter losing rounds to a fighter on Darren Barkers level is simply unacceptable.

I like Darren. Followed his whole career an I was rooting for him even though I knew he would lose.

But, I was shocked at how well he did or more over how average Martinez was at times.

I mean, Mayweather would have no issues with Sergio Martinez.

He needs to sign for that fight asap.

                  • How was Andy Lee? Has he improved or is he still the same old below average guy?

I actually thought that was the best Lee I've seen in a while. He used his height and reach to his advantage and his defense was tight for once. I really liked the way he used his uppercuts and jab. Still don't think he's near ready for Martinez though.
