I've been around a few forums for a few years and I've never seen "crazy idiots" claiming "he never struggled". Where can we find all these outrageous claims?

I think you might be off with the pixies on this one buster.

He was in his prime or very close to it for these matches. Forget the fact that he was stunned by Farr and dropped by Galeno. I have been saying this for years. And watch Godoy 1 and tell me what your think of the surviving footage. Double dare you.

I'll say this, Louis is lucky to fight in a down era of heavyweight boxing and fought just two African Americans in his title shots. One was a vision impaired light heavyweight in his last fight, the other ( Walcott ) was robbed blind in this first fight and way ahead in their second match until he got cute and caught

If he gave title shots to Elmer Ray, Turkey Thompson, Lem Franklin, and Lee Q Murray he probably loses once more. Maybe twice. He pretty much avoided Rosenbloom. No title shots to Obie Walker or Tiger Fox either.

Louis is one of the greats but its clear is is not as great as the media tells you if watch the films and scorecards .
Nope! the scorecards up until Louis ko'd Conn were as follows 5-7, 6-7.4-7

            6-7.8-6 9-6 Against Walcott.
Still awarding decisions to Louis' opponents on the basis of some edited highlights.have you any idea how absurd you are?

Score was 6-6 not 6-7 (It couldn't be 6-7 the 13th round was not scored.)

P.S. Conn had to win at least one round on two judges score cards or two rounds on one judges score card (each round) to win. (Dependent on which judges.)

If Louis takes all three final rounds on all three judges score cards he wins a MD.

It is a common mistake to believe that Conn could have just stalled for three rounds. He needed to score just a couple more points to win the title.

You posting of bogus score cards men nothing. You say Louis was ahead?

No, he was behind the super middle weight. He lucky this fight wasn't 12 rounds and Conn fought ******ly in the 13th

" After twelve rounds, Conn was ahead on two of the three scorecards and even on the third. He needed to win just one of the three remaining rounds to get the decision. However, after staggering Louis in the twelfth, Conn believed he could stop him and went for a knockout in the thirteenth. Louis, who was told by his trainer, Jack Blackburn, that he had to stop Conn to win, also went for a knockout. Louis hurt Conn with a right about a minute into the round. Louis, one of the greatest finishers of all-time, didn't let Conn off the hook. A volley of lefts and rights put Conn down for the count at 2:58 of the thirteenth round "
