As for Vitali, just look at the Lewis fight. An out-of-shape and ageing Lewis turned a prime Vitali into a pizza-face. Imagine what a prime Louis would do with the heavy bombs he would be throwing.

Joe Louis would go to the body.He would concentrate on the body in the early rounds.Landing good hard shots to the body,and eventually bringing Klit's gaurd down.Then Louis would go to the head and the body.Landing his beuatiful combinations.Louis had faster hands,and would beat Klit to the punch again and again on the inside.

Remember,Klit's style is nothing like Billy Conn's,Gene Tunney,or a Prime Muhammad Ali.Louis would not have any trouble with Klit's style.In fact,he would relish it.I see Louis winning by a brutal KO in about the 13th round,after wearing down the bigger man with his deadly shots and repeated combinations to the head and the body.

Please watch Vitali Klitschko, he is incredibly protected against body shots. He leaves his hands low, something he can do being 6'8, iron chinned, and using his left to keep his opponents hands down. Louis wouldnt even get shots off. Vitali isnt even raising his hands, smaller guys have to get closer to his his chin. As for Wlad, Wlad's style would be a nightmare for Louis. Wlad's left hand would be in Louis's face all night long. Even when Louis put his hands up he'd feel wlad's punches, Wlad might be th emost underrated athlete in the world.

Although I respect your opinion and Vitali was definitely ahead on the scorecards, only half of the 12 round fight had been completed, and Vitali was only ahead by 1 or 2 rounds.
And if you rewatch the 6th round, it looks as if Lewis had started to take the upper hand. Not only did he land that huge right uppercut that snapped Vitali's head badly, but toward the very end of that last round Vitali looked quite clearly hurt by a short right hand to the temple that forced him to grab onto Lewis.

Im with you, I would have loved to see a rematch. Lewis may have recongnised that he was getting too old though, and left while he still had his health.

Now, as for the fight, I really dont think anyone actually 'knows' who would have won. They were both exhasuted and very beat up, and who knows how the fight could have played out?
