Shavers, Foreman, Louis, Tyson - who was the hardest puncher

Ali said Shavers was the strongest puncher he faced with a lot of conviction. He may have said that Frazier hit him the hardest or that Joe was the hardest hitter he faced before Shavers, but I haven't heard of it before.Comment

"Next to Frazier, Shavers hit me the hardest" or something a long those lines I've never heard him actually say it though.Comment

Here's him calling Shavers the strongest puncher though:

now that i have enough posts. Here is the Houston article, please cite a more reputable source. Burden of proof is on you. You know ****, this guy gets paid to write this stuff, id pay for you to shut the **** up.
We've counted down the best heavyweights in boxing history. But who are the hardest hitters in the division's history?
Tyson 1
Liston 2
Louis 3
Foreman 4
Marciano 5
Shavers 6
He says perhaps Shavers should be a little higher, but not freaking number 1.
Burden of proof is now on you *******.Comment

Nice tactic of waiting until AFTER logged off and went to bed to make a reply.....not. Regardless Junior, you might want to try actually READING the article you cite before claim it as a source.

You see Junior I actually took the liberty of reading it this morning and it's pretty clear from the text that despite how the article is titled he's talking about who the greatest puncher is not who's the hardest puncher.....A different animal altogether and one in which punching power is just ONE factor involved. BTW, Ring Magazine already did that getting a consensus of SEVERAL boxing historians and they ranked Louis as the greatest puncher.
Like I said, you might want to try and actually READ your souce before you cite it.
As for your "opinions" let me introduce you to some cold hard facts: If by some odd chance you actually go to college you're going to find that the professors aren't going to give a rat's azz about your opinions. They want factual answers from you arrived at by solid, logical reasoning; when they want your opinion they'll give it to you.
Now, as I said earlier, since it's YOU who are dis*****g the consensus view of the boxing historians the burden of proof is on YOU. So far all you've managed to do is quote Holmes from his "grumpy old man" stage of life and cite a source that you didn't bother to read. That's NOT meating the burden of proof. You're going to have to do better than that if you don't want an F on your paper Junior.
PS. Man up and tell us who's alt you are: It's pretty obvious and no doubt your previous incarnation was banned hence the alt
PS. The little pvssy probably has me on ignore :rofl9:

Oh and before you do, please cite where academia says Shavers is teh hardest hitting, the hardest measured PSI punch was Wladimir Klitschko, so thats the only academic article out there. I want to see your academia or which boxing historian you cite who says Shavers was the hardest hitter. Still no cites from you, nothing.
Just do it dude, kill yourself. I promise all the pain will disappear if you just end it. Teach everyone a lesson.Last edited by Die Antwoord; 08-27-2010, 02:23 PM.Comment

READ the article dude. Just read. Come on now.....it won't hurt you! I know English comprehension isn't your strong suit but it's pretty obvious from the text what the dude is talking about. I would also refer you to Ring Magazine's Greatest Punchers articles for some actual education on the subject......it's not hard to find, that's why God created Google :grin9:

I read the article and the article says exactly what I said, Shavers waited to put all of his energy into one punch, that doesnt make him the hardest hitter, it means he was a pretty lousy fighter. Also his one punch wasnt as hard as Tysons, the article is clearly about the hardest hitter, and Tyson was ranked number 1. Deal with it.You do realize you'd fail even a remedial text comprehension course? :geek9:
