Antwood, I wasnt going after you or telling you to quit the forum or anything like that. I was stating what I thought about those quotes you had on there, maybe they are real but you just took them out of an interview and used what would work for your argument. The only quote that really has any bearing on this thread is when Holmes said Shavers was the hardest puncher he faced. And Holmes did get his arm caught in the ropes, watch the fight. And of course you left out the part where I said Holmes probably would have still lost even if that hadnt happened. The fight might have went more rounds if that had'nt happened is what I'm saying. Yeah, I'm quite aware that Holmes had been knocked down before that but he still had his wits about him before getting crunched with his arm caught behind him.

        Poet
Holy crap Poet, that was just a awefull beating Like watching the Vitali-Sanders fight all over again, just in words...

        First I post Foreman's argument...

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfgj-GBxBrg
Just George's straight left(Forced Jab) was harder than Tyson's hooks

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZtZl...eature=related
Heavybag Show off, probably after George was done working out, just for the camera.

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcvc7TYC034
Mike Tyson ...Foreman and Shavers both hit much harder than I... Disagreeing with Ali here about Tyson KOing Ali, great watch too!

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMwWynfQKLc
Holyfield, Foreman hit me harder than ANYONE! Even Bert Cooper or Mike Tyson

        Earnie Shavers Argument

I have Earnie's book, their are quotes in it...

Mills Lane says that throughout his entire career, the most devastating puncher he ever witnessed was Shavers

Holmes says Shavers hit him hardest

Norton Says Shavers hit him hardest

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7oxU4f8urYY
Lyle says Shavers hit him hardest

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6lWa50D68g
Ali says Shavers hit him hardest. Their are 2 more interviews, more recently, where Ali says the same thing floating around youtube.

You can triangle how hard such and such hit, not who would beat who so...

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXxnmaX4FAo
James Tillis says not only did Shavers hit him hardest, but Shavers was the toughest man he ever faced. Also says this in his book.

So if Old George hit Evander harder than Tyson, and Young George hit harder than Old George, and Shavers hit harder than Young George...get the point?

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5a8A00wEdO0
Joe Frazier also hit much harder than Tyson did, in the gym anyway.

you cant really measure punching power, if you watch fights and see the other guy consistently putting guys away, he's got power, good enough.

This is exactly the way I look at which is why I avoid engaging in these types of debates.

Meh, the way I see it, these things are just for fun. It is the same as asking in World's Strongest man, Who squats the most? Who has the strongest arms? Its for fun :P These questions are just trivial, especially when you take into account that the sport has been dominated fairly well by Mariusz, who is shorter, much lighter, and much weaker than several of the other consistent finalists. Funny that the winner in the end is the weakest and lightest of all of the finalists often...Zydrunas Savickas won the last one though, and he may be one of the strongest men to ever live, huge contrast between him and Mariusz...

Thats the way I look at it anyway. Just fun to debate and throw around facts.

              Foreman!

Look at the way he lifted Joe Frazier off the canvas with 1 punch, also most guys Marciano fought, claimed that when they held their arms up for protection early in fights, that Rocky's shots were so hard, their arms would go nearly numb & they had to drop them & then get knocked out, Rocky is up there also,
              1. Foreman
              2. Shavers
              3. Marciano
              4. Bruno
              5. Liston
              6. Frazier
              7. Tyson
              8. Dempsey
              9. W. Klitchko
              10.Louis

I think the top 5 are solid, you could take any of the 5 & mix & match, same goes for the bottom half of the 10 mix & match them from 6-10 you would not be wrong, just watch their fights, & you have all the answers you need as to why they are on my list, after this 10, begins the 2nd tier of great punchers at HW then the 3rd tier, all could hit & KO anyone, but I believe there are 3 levels at HW, and this group of 10 is the top tier.
