I don't deny that posters can be judgemental on this part of the forum but that's mainly because there have been numerous trolls here whose only intention is to stir up useless conflicts without any intention of discussing actual boxing.

As for the Ruddock-Ali issue, Ruddock hit harder with one punch but Ali was without a doubt the more effective puncher of the two. Not that I would classify Ali as a "puncher", since he did not actively seek a knockout as Ruddock did.

I wouldn't put too much stock into the Ring's lists, although I can definitely see why they didn't rate Ali. He was not truly a puncher. He wasn't a hard hitter, but he was more likely to land 5 of his stinging punches on you than Ruddock would with one of his telegraphed left uppercuts.
