I wouldn't consider his jab as ''timing'' or ''versatile'' but its pretty quick and hard. I look at fighters like Dwight Qawi, Barrera, Ali, Duran ect as example of fighters that had timing jabs that were range finding. Wlad throws his jab (normally after paws) even when it doesn't land. Its kind of like he just throws it out there until he see's something. Liston's jab was much more range finding and versatile.

This is him against Wepner. Despite Wepner trying to show side to side movement, Liston's jab connects regularly.

Muhammad Ali-Loses to both by UD
Larry Holmes-Loses to both by UD , might even get stopped late
George Foreman-KO's Wlad, TKO'd by Vitali
Joe Frazier-KO'd by both, slight chance to KO Wlad
Sonny Liston-Probably KO'd by both, possibly KO's Wlad

Ken Norton-same as Frazier except he won't stop Wlad
Ron Lyle-KO'd by both , stands some chance at stopping Wlad
      Ernie Shavers-KO'd by both
Jerry Quarry- TKO'd on cuts against both , maybe even KO'd against Wlad

Instead of pushing forward to get inside Wlad's reach they would actually take steps BACK!!!!! to adjust the range back OUT!!!!! I was like WTF????? They're putting themselves right back out into Wlad's power zone!!!!!! When you have a reach disadvantage you should NEVER take a backwards step. The safest place you can be is INSIDE your opponents reach where they lose leverage on their punches and their power diminishes. Doesn't ANYBODY know how to fight anymore?!?!? What the **** are they teaching these people?!?!?

Poor Ray Leonard , he would better have had you instead of Angelo Dundee when he fought Hearns.

Very simple : jab (miss) , jab (land) , straight , jab .. (maybe even a hook if Ali figures he has to get inside)
The better question is how Ali would be able do fight Klitschko , yes , I know : dance , jab (miss) , jab (miss) , dance (get hit) , jab (miss) , jab (get hit)
Wlad will have power and range advantages over Ali and Ali's speed and chin (even he was stopped at the amateurs) may only help him to last the distance in a losing effort while being peppered along the 12 rounds distance.

Joe frazier wouldn't sign a contract to fight either - unrealistic fantasy fight
Sonny Liston beats Vitali via a decision and gets knocked out by Wlad.

Ken Norton would be stopped by both Klitschkos.
Ron Lyle gets stopped by both Klitschkos.
Earnie Shavers gets stopped by both Klitschkos.
Jerry Quarry gets stopped on his feet by both Klitschkos.
How can you imagine Liston beating Vitali via a decision ? you take the 84" stat too seriously. Liston will be in a huge effective reach disadvantage and will get stopped himself. He won't be able to reach Vitali's chin.

That prime Muhammad Ali will also be unable to land a clean punch on Wlad , unless he will get tagged with clean punches before and after his try.

                because he is an idiot.
He probably pasted the link to the first youtube Ali video he found.

Prime Ali beats Vitali by UD or TKO.

Vitali's record is 1-1 against opponents under 220lbs. He quit againt Chris Byrd, and went 11 rounds with journeyman Vaughn Bean and failed to knock either guy down.

Prime Ali would frustrate the hell out of Vitali with his speed and illusiveness, and unlike Byrd he has the reach and skill to land shots while doing it.

                  Ali TKO 11

The late Jimmy Jacobs, then the owner of the world's largest fight film collection, once measured Ali's jab by an omegascope. He found that Sugar Ray Robinson's jab took 8.5 frames of film. Ali's took only 6.5!! Faster than the fastest middleweights!!

Yes,Muhammad Ali's jab was faster than Sugar Ray Robinson's jab.

I posted this for those who were talking about Ali's left jab.
