If this thread were about any other fighter, he wouldn't give two ****s about what anybody said, even if they were way off the reservation, but since it's about his precious Lennox Lewis, he can not turn a blind eye, or ignore ones opinion, but will go to all out war to defend his favorite fighter.
That's when you can't be taken seriously. You can love a fighter as much as you want, but when you ignore his faults, or even worst, turn his faults into great accomplishments, and discredit other great fighters to boost your favorite fighter, that is when you're not a credible boxing fan, but just a fanboy.
Zod, you're a fanboy, and the worst fanboy at that. There are other Lewis fan's on here but they stay out of these threads because they can acknowledge the facts, whereas you feel the need to argue to the death that Lewis was a great champion, when the fact is that he was anything but.
He is the only HW I can think of that never fought any top contender at any point in his career. How many other HW's that are well known never fought a single good fighter?
Lewis is the only bigtime, mainstream guy that I can think of.
Lewis was a pitiful disgrace of a heavyweight champion, and that is a fact.

he's got names ranging from good to great. some were prime, some were near prime. a couple were shot. pretty much like everyone else's resume. you can get em all on their best day. there's a good number of guys with better resumes, but there's no shame in that.

4 losing scorecards is a lot considering all the Tomato cans he fought.
Lewis got poleaxed by 2 journeymen
Lewis was not undisputed heavyweight champion of the world when he retired - Lewis had been stripped of 2 of his belts for refusing to fight the No1 contenders and retired only 3 days before he was to be stripped of his last remaining belt, again for refusing to fight the No1 contender.... Tunney & Marciano can never be called or labelled as "Duckers"

.
Michael Grant, Golota, and David Tua were the top contenders who were much younger than Lennox Lewis. All 3 were KO artists and had 1 conventional loss between them when Lennox faced them.
Not only did Lennox fight the number 1 contenders in their prime but he beat a number 1 prime contender at the old age of 37.
Vitali went on to become the dominant champ of the next era. Go find one Heavyweight Great who beat the dominant champ of the NEXT era?
its the equivalent of:
Marciano beating Liston
Jeffries beating Johnson
Ali beating Holmes
Holmes beating Tyson
What Lennox did in his career is remarkable, and he deserves a spot in the top 10 HW's.Ropeee likes this.
