No announcement yet.
If Ali were never stripped of his title in 1967, could he have beaten Louis' record?

c'mon then.......Young?? Norton III??? very close fights which could've gone either way.....hardly a gift
Ali didn't win 4 of 15 rounds against Young.
It's debatable whether Ali won any of the three fights against Norton.

Muhammad Ali lost by a `Split-Decision` in his first fight with Ken Norton even tho he suffered a broken jaw.. Ali won the next two fights with Norton, to claim those decisions was incorrect is deluding oneself

edit: that's max baer, not buddy. in fact, i'd say louis took bigger shots from baer than ali did from foreman.

I know when I wrote that Louis was the fastest most precise combination puncher it was based on facts that are supported by experts and historians alike. Well?
Why did you leave out these facts?
BTW-What you base as facts are just imaginations of your mind.Patterson and Ali are both faster than Joe.

Don't know where you get the idea he had poor head movement. Just because he wasn't bobbing and weaving all the time doesn't make that true.
As far as a suspect chin......that is a myth. Flash knockdowns don't make a bad chin. Louis ate right after right from Schmeling before being finally stopped. I think it was over 100 flush rights but am not sure of the exact number. That is hardly suspect. His power of recovery was as good as any heavyweight ever. So you can dead that assumption.
Whether he was faster, as fast or not quite as fast as Ali and Patterson is irrelevant. NOBODY threw harder, faster and more precise punches in combination. That is a fact.
