Ward has ZERO PPV sales while trying to bait Golovkin up in weight. Ward's best PPV numbers were 160K buys from his first fight with Kovalev. Ward then gets a gift in the first fight and should have been DQ'd in rematch. Kovalev wasn't on the same level as GGG and Ward struggled with him. Now Ward is desperate for a fight with a low-skill washed up HW where he wants to make the fight in UK because no one will pay to see him in the U.S. He couldn't even sell out venues in his hometown of Oakland.
Ward had an automatic payday to fight Canelo but for some reason retired early to avoid that jackpot. Never understood that. Ward was so overrated and was a very minor attraction. Golovkin was a superstar in a foreign land.

Ward calling out Joshua is about as ridiculous as Margarito calling out Beterbiev or Winky Wright calling out Opetaia.

Golovkin has too much class to humiliate Ward for ducking him. He's not going to crow about it like Mayweather or Davis would. GGG realized Ward did not want to fight him, let him move on, and had too much respect to try to discredit his value and reputation. Most boxing fans can't grasp this after listening to that imbecile Mayweather for over a decade.

I don't believe a challenge by one fighter, whether by media or even by a proposal, warrants calling the other fighter's refusal a 'duck.'

A 'duck' has too many variables attached, for it to be based solely on a 'call out.' -This isn't the WWE.

It's prize fighting, (emphasize the "prize"), you take the best fight (for you), for the best money.

Money is the brass ring of boxing; legacy is only for geeks on a boxing forum two score years later.

Sure you do. If the fighter in question has physical characteristics you don't like (such as Whitaker, Ward, Mayweather) you certainly would see it as a duck. In this case, Golovkin has physical characteristics to your liking (Such as Jack Dempsey, Willie Pep, Caitlin Clark) so you're going to deny it's a duck with silly rationalizations.

There are facts documenting that Golovkin clearly ducked Ward. Your spin and rationalizations will never change that.

I have a hard time calling anyone a duck when they are in different weight classes. Its not like GGG was fighting at 168, or won a belt at SMW at the time, and Ward was not at 160. Two different weight classes, let them be where they were at their best.

Look at this race baiting clown, classic fragility and victimhood on display.

Modern Black American fighters have special privileges because of the hard work Ali, Frazier, Holyfield, Tyson, Holmes, Jones did for them. They paved the road. Today's American fighters have the special privilege to fight whoever they want to pick. Ward had the chance to pick Golovkin with HBO's blessing but opted for more safe options, as the article revealed.

There are no facts alleging GGG ducked Ward, just lies and propaganda spit out by the exposed Ward. Ward could have fought GGG but picked a patsy instead. Ward challenged GGG when he knew GGG already had Lemieux lined up.

It's a duck that was carefully covered up. Here's another covered up duck. Mayweather was crowing how he could "beat anyone from 154 on down." Floyd had two fights at 154. Golovkin heard about it and said OK Floyd, I will fight you at 154. Floyd's response? He went into hiding and never said a word about it again. That's a duck. Floyd put out a bluff challenge, GGG answered it. Floyd went into silent hiding.

Actually there are. Golovkin's own promoter, trainer, and their words. Can't get any more factual than that. But you can keep pulling up anonymous quotes from Scoop Malinowski
