Maybe not as slow as he looked. I believe it was his lack of intelligence in the ring that made Louis perhaps look slower than he was. He really was a low IQ individual as shown in his fights with Billy Conn and Joe Walcott. Outside the ring wasn't any better with all of his Tax issues.

This is what you said "- - Pea trained by ol slo DumDuva was walking into southpaw Jose Luis Ramirez left hooks to the liver all night." Right? Im asking what rounds? I watched the fight live and I rewatched it yesterday. You're making things up, lying. If not tell us the rounds. That fight was a whitewash by Whitaker. Nearly a shutout and one of the biggest robberies in boxing g history. Pea made Ramirez look silly.[/QUOTE]
I hate that point . . . Wiggling your azz, sticking your tongue out while jumping around, without engaging, isn't great defense. It's a clown act.
The only fighter who looked silly was Pee Wee himself.

Do you really think it fair to call a fighter s-tupid because he got robbed by a promoter?
I suspect you'll find few who weren't robbed.

Funny but Billy Conn also used Uncle Mike Jacobs as his promoter and when the war came in 1942 both men were deeply in trouble with the IRS.
