It was not Conn or Walcott who moved very well. Louis struggled vs merely good movers or looked very bad / lost vs Pastor, Schemling, and Godoy. The first Godoy fight...well score it for yourself. Louis' personal professional ref, Art Donovan made sure he did not lose that one.

Godoy thought he was entitled to a draw,he never claimed he deserved the win.Donovan gave Godoy one more round than one of the judges.

I don't believe he won the Chavez fight.

Whitaker won the anticipation gane, yes.

That was the big theme going in.

Whitaker did in fact stop the feared Chavez 'relentless' assault.

But then that's all he did. He never took command of the fight, never had Chavez at bay.

Whitaker doesn't deserve the W for getting half the job done. He stopped the attack but had no offense.

Hell one can argue that Chavez got half the job done as well. Whitaker never moved him.

So if we are praising Whitaker for stopping Chavez's attack as such a big deal, why are we not praising Chavez for neutralizing Whitaker's attack?

Why? Because of the 'anticipation game.'

We decide what we think should happen and when it doesn't we think something special must have happened. It didn't.

The fight was a stinker because Whitaker avoided engaging as much as he could.

People want to believe Whitaker's surrival is some how a victory.

The fight was DRAW, and boring as well.

But boxing fans just love to create great fighters on paper.
