Lewis retired as THE World's Champion and never came back. Only the 3rd ever to do that in the modern era.

So who cares what the WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO, AAO, WBU, WAA or the XYZ does with their plastic title belts? They do whatever they please with their titles anyway, regardless of what fighters do in the ring.

    Meh.

You're so dense. If Vits DIDNT want to deal with King he could have just waited for Peter to be stripped if he didn't fight him. Thanks for making my point!!

John L Sullivan is the first QB champion despite never winning any QB title fights, the majority of his fights being LPR rules with gloves as reported by the sources, drawing the colorline and the English to call himself global, and, despite being very much disputed at the time he is considered undisputed by any you ask.

So, it's not that outlandish Z would look to change the steps and logic used to define duck to suit himself. Youse do that all the time. Pretty sure i just posted about how none of you have any real boxing principles. If you do, you end up outside of the consensus of who is and isn't great. Just saying, y'all be having your cake and eating it too so you can't hardly fault Z for doing the same. The difference is not logical or principle, it is popularity.
He can try to change the steps, I'm not taking the bait.

You are using the WBC rules that say MAY.

Do you realize how much this is costing you credibility?

          1. modal verb A2

You use may to indicate that something will possibly happen or be true in the future, but you cannot be certain.

Oh man, I totally forgot about all the times the Vitali-Rahman fight fell through. I never thought Klitschko ducked him obviously but it was pretty funny how it looked that way because of the circumstances, and Rahman kept getting older and more washed up.

At this point he can say whatever he wants about me. What he can't do is explain why it wasn't ok for Lewis to retire after beating Vits, but its ok for Vits to postpone against Rahman 5× and say he wouldn't be ready by a certain date, but as soon as Rahman makes another fight he can miraculously be ready to fight in a month. Double standards all day everyday.

By the way Z, why don't you tell us about the Tyson-Botha fight again? Clown.

Goes back to what I've always said and am convinced of. As good as and as tough as Vits was he hardly ever went for the best fighter. Not saying Rahman was the best, but he was a mandatory Vits obviously wasn't comfortable with. He may have had an injury at some point....all fighters do. But when he said he couldn't be ready on a certain date and than fought another opponent a month after when Rahman announced he'd had signed a different fight......if you think that's OK, but not a champion retiring after winning his last fight, that says something about your agenda.

                    - - He wanted to fight and the fight was in Germany with 10 mil viewers with a mandatory purse split. King was forced into being a nonentity like U...

Vitali always seemed like the meaner brother to me in his fighting but also in spirit. I actually like Vitali and rate him pretty high H2H all time as a HW, but the part of his personality I didn't like is that he didn't always respect opponents. He showed sportsmanship, but I don't know he kind of looked like he thought most of them were beneath him. Take also once when he was asked about the early kickboxing fight he had against a particular kickboxer who ko'd him with a headkick. Vitali outright denied he got ko'd. Meanwhile there was footage of it floating around and then it became 'viral' and everyone saw he lied/was wrong.

He has a tough time dealing with defeat and just accepting a loss. His behavior when the Lewis fight was stopped was not respectable, and he also discredited Chris Byrd for that amazing performance that got him the win. He really hates losing and dealing with it, and that could explain why he was picky with matchups and ended up with a malnutritioned resume.
