Why did Hagler avoid the Leonard rematch?

You're the most poorly studied fan here. The fact is Leonard retired, came back and drew with Hearns, beat Duran again and offered Marvin the rematch. I'm in no way putting him down for not taking it. It's not like he lost, kept fighting and was side by side in the ranking next to Leonard for several years. I do feel (my opinion) Hagler thought he should have gotten the decision and just wanted no part of boxing again. Could have been something? Different? Maybe. I'm asking for opinions, you're just to dense to understand that Corky.
Ray was encouraged to join AOL so he could tell how he had been training in secret for while in retirement for a whole year. The Forum hooted him off in disgrace to never appear again.
We did the same to the stink of Tubby Lar too, but of course U in BarneyBigBoys then and now simply haven't a clue how boxing works...

Hagler did want a rematch immediately after the fight, but Ray had retired again, only to comeback......again. When Marvin was offered big money to come back and rematch Leonard he passed. I think they both knew the were past their best. Hagler stayed retired and Ray rematched Hearns and Duran again after having finagled the newly created super middleweight title and lightheavyweight title from Donny LaLonde after making him come down to 168.
I think it was too much for Hagler to feel like Ray was giving him an opportunity. Also when fighters feel a bad decision happened it puts them in a tremendous psychological bind. They are taught they control what happens in the ring. Fighters believe they can win... To have that controlled outside of them has to be very hard to accept. It is one of the reasons bad judges are so bad for boxing.
I don't blame Hagler, I say this without saying who won the Ray fight... But if you feel like you will not get an opportunity to win because it is out of your control sometimes it is best not to fight.

I have no idea. It's unfortunate. While Bronson was sometimes brash, he always brought the goods to the table. I've learned a lot from him, as I do most everyone else in this section.

I was only on Boxing 24 for about a week and got booted off for daring to mention the P*kistani M*slim r*pe gangs.
