    Douglas.

By stoppage probably on cuts in around ten but he could KO Rocky late.

On that one particular night an inspired Buster would be a real handful for anyone in history.

Prime Marciano? Which era is the fight happening? If it's in Marciano's era then I have to go with Marciano. Breaks him down to body, stops him late. If the fight is in Douglas' era it's even money Marciano gets stopped on cuts.

Tokyo Buster had one great fight and one great fight only. Judging by this single performance he may have beaten Rock for that one fight. But all his other performances were legitimately pathetic. Any other Douglas but Tokyo will be slaughtered by Rocky 364 days per year like he was wearing a rainbow shirt..

I disagree with the rest of his fights being pathetic. Douglas just never had the fire to fight, tje skills were there. He beat some talented fighters, he just never showed consistency. He never had a mean streak. But an on point Douglas......not an all time great, but certainly a bad match up for most fighters in history .

Well we have to take them at their best, even if it was for only 47 minutes out of an entire career. Tokyo Buster had some Mama power going on that night. Everything was for Mama because she died. If he needed a dead mother to fight good, it stands to reason he could only have one good fight. And I think that's what happened.

Grief is a very funny thing (unfortunately I should know - I have had more of it than most people could stand and stay sane).

It can totally destroy or it can totally motivate.

For Douglas it was the latter.

Buster for that one single night utilised all the talents that he should have for his entire career.

In Tokyo he fought like a top tier ATG.

This is why i dont like judging on just one fight. Too small of a sample size to eliminate the noise of what can attributed to the fighter, as opposed to their opponent or the situation itself.

Most fighters are roughly the same over a 3-6 year period (or at least evens out from the highs and the lows). You get a better picture of who they are and what they can consistently do.

                    - - Mike KOed Buster in spite of being shut out sleepwalking on his dangerous experimental psychotropic sedatives. The Ref failed him.

I liked Buster then and now as a boxer whereas the usual suspects boxing is infamous for dismissed his prediabetic condition that almost killed him. Buster beat Ollie before Mike, so then Ollie goes on to KO Lewie's cherry. Buster has a better outcome than the other Buster, Mathis who died of diabetes back in the day when diabetes care was in the stone age.
