I liked Buster then and now as a boxer whereas the usual suspects boxing is infamous for dismissed his prediabetic condition that almost killed him. Buster beat Ollie before Mike, so then Ollie goes on to KO Lewie's cherry. Buster has a better outcome than the other Buster, Mathis who died of diabetes back in the day when diabetes care was in the stone age.
    Don't you ever stop?

Buster was not badly hurt, his eyes were clear and he followed the referees count.

Unlike Tyson who was in another dimension when Douglas lowered the boom.

His desperate fanboys and casuals with stopwatches who don't even know basic boxing rules mean **** all.

The myth was started by that human sewage King to cast doubt on Buster and (preposterously) keep his cash cow undefeated.

It just shows how corrupt rhe sport is when The Ring (now owned by the Wahaabists of course) have just given him a lifetime achievement award..

      For what?

Being a murderer, fixing judges, ripping off fighters, being a racist, intimidation?

      F*** King.

If I believed in a Hell he would have a first class ticket.

Mathis had various health problems in later years, including two strokes, a heart attack, and kidney failure. He died of heart failure at age 52 .

Tyson was not on the drugs you mentioned at the time of the Mathis fight .
He did not take Douglas seriously ,hardly trained, and was partying whilst in Japan.

Singer Bobby Brown wrote in his autobiography that he met with Tyson in Tokyo and the two partied extensively the night before the fight. Brown claims Tyson refused to go to sleep early for the fight, deeming Douglas "an amateur" he could beat "if I didn't sleep for five weeks".]
        • Two of the judges tried their best to rob Douglas of victory that night, the Japanese judges Ken Morita who had the fight 86-87 to Tyson and Masakazu Uchida who had it even at 86-86. The only judge who scored it properly was Larry Rozadilla who rightly gave Douglas every round (88-82) with the exception of the 8th where Tyson scored a knockdown over Douglas.
        • Douglas was ranked No. 2 by the IBF, No. 3 by the WBC and No. 4 by the WBA.
        • Tyson's purse was $6 million, and Douglas' was $1.3 million.
        • There was an estimated crowd of 40,000.
        • The fight took place on Sunday morning in Tokyo to accommodate the live Saturday night HBO broadcast in the United States. (Japan is 13 hours ahead of the Eastern time zone of the U.S.)
        • Douglas controlled the fight from the beginning, working behind a strong jab on the outside and tying up Tyson whenever the champion got inside. This was Tyson's third fight without Kevin Rooney, his long-time trainer, and the incompetence of his new trainers, Aaron Snowell and Jay Bright, was never more evident. Tyson's left eye started to swell by the fifth round, but Tyson's corner didn't have an enswell, a standard piece of equipment for any corner, so Snowell filled a latex glove with ice and put that on Tyson's eye between rounds. Teddy Atlas, Tyson's former amateur trainer, said, "Those two guys couldn’t train a fish to swim.” With six seconds left in the eighth round, Tyson dropped Douglas with a right uppercut. Douglas got up at the count of nine, and that was the end of the round. Douglas regained control in the ninth round and wobbled Tyson with a left. In the tenth round, Douglas hurt Tyson with a right uppercut, then followed up with a combination, finishing with a left that put Tyson down for the first time in his career. Tyson put his knocked-out mouthpiece in backwards and tried to get up, but his legs were too wobbly. Referee Octavio Meyran waved the fight over and wrapped his arms around the rubbery-legged Tyson.
        • After the fight, promoter Don King attempted to have the result voided, claiming that the referee had given Douglas a "long count" when he was down in the eighth round. King said video replays showed Douglas was down for more than 10 seconds. The IBF recognized Douglas as champion, but the WBC and WBA withheld recognition of Douglas' victory pending a review. WBC president Jose Sulaiman said his organization would hold a hearing on February 18, and WBA president Gilberto Mendoza said his group would meet within ten days. There was a tremendous backlash against the WBC and WBA, and on February 13, the two sanctioning bodies announced that they would recognize Douglas as champion. It was later learned that the British Boxing Board of Control and several state commissions in the United States had threatened to withdraw from the WBC if the organization failed to recognize Douglas' victory.
        • Douglas filed a lawsuit to break his promotional contract with King and signed a conditional contract to make his first title defense at The Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Douglas claimed that King had breached their contract when he tried to have Douglas' win against Tyson overturned. An out of court settlement gave King the right to promote a Douglas-Tyson rematch, but Douglas would first defend against Evander Holyfield at The Mirage, a promotion in which King would have no direct pecuniary interest.
The referee did his job, referees counts vary ,it is up to the boxer to follow the count the Ref is giving him.Douglas did that.
Tyson couldn't get up in time, so he was counted out ,no controversy, just Don King trying to subvert the result and retain control of the title.

          - - Are U yet another needing a minder to prop U up?

I clearly faulted the ref, not Buster.

Drugged up Tyson on strong, experimental psychotropic drugs would never had been KOed had the ref been of a high caliber instead of a lower functioning pro ref of no account our of Mexico put in by DKing for his nefarious purpose...

Marciano losing exists purely in the world of fantasy.

Tokyo Douglas is a fantasy character that does not exist in objective reality, like loser Marciano.

Just saying ... it is like Batman vs Spider-Man ... really nothing to get worked up over braskis

Zoloft was not a strong psychotropic drug. Millions of people take it. Tyson got knocked out because he was I'll prepared and Douglas was the better man that night. Tyson trained on hookers. Kinda like there is no way to dismiss Schmelings win over Louis. Louis trained on a golf course instead of a boxing ring. Neither fighter may have been as good overall, but they were both better on those respective nights. You making things up wil never change that.

                - - I'll take the original AOL moderater testimony over a PunchDummy like U.

I used to work the adolescent ward at our State Hospital where I was responsible for the distribution and safe guarding of prescriptions. I also have medical and science training good enough that I don't even need a Doctor.

When Givens and Mike were interviewed by Barbara Walters, she did all the talking as Tyson looked about as dangerous as Little Bo Peep asleep on her pillow.

Had U been there, U coulda been the punchdummy to make us in between the ongoing tragedy of Tyson.

Yes, you've told us all about your shenanigans with the youth of the mental health clinic you were confined to and mopped floors at. No one cares. So now you're going by how Mike looked? Lmao!!! You provide zero proof to the logistics claims you make on a regular basis. "Dangerous experimental psychotropic drugs"!!! Get the f^@% outta here!!

Watching that interview was like watching a train wreck.

It was weird having to wait 24 hours to confirm everybody else saw what I thought I saw.

                    So strange.

For Douglas it was the latter.

Buster for that one single night utilised all the talents that he should have for his entire career.

In Tokyo he fought like a top tier ATG.
I don't know how much you have suffered because you will not tell. Perhaps no more than the rest of us averaged out. Why would anyone tell a group of strangers how they have suffered and suffered and then refuse to tell them how and why? Is it always scouts' honer with you, son? You have mentioned it over and over, that is the only reason I do. I don't think anybody cares unless you give some details. I have no reason at all to believe you have suffered more than the rest of us. You may only be an inveterate complainer, as far as anyone here knows.

Understand I am not disbelieving you, I simply have no reason at all to concur unless you say more.
