Actually Pep is making a great point. The situation with these lists always has to compare a segment of previous lists... How do we reason which segment is more legit? Sometimes there is an easy way. If one makes such a list as your thread asks, we can take Ray Robinson and perhaps (perhaps?) Armstrong, and see if they can be put somewhere immediately. It gets harder as we move through time... Joe Louis? Ali? Dempsey? All three guys were larger than life, great fighters and set a precedent for fighting theory, during their tenure as champs... Which time segment was "Greater?"

Actually a surprisingly good list. Not the GOATS necessarily, but for being Ring M agazine's first rankings a great collection of champions appear. The weakness name is Wlson at MW.

Everyone else, at that frozen moment in time, was a pretty damn good fighter, with maybe Wilde being in contention for GOAT.

1922 must have been a great year for boxing fans.

Carpentier doesn't belong in the top 10 of any list of light heavies.
