If they were the same, and they are not,why are they spelt different, and why would there be a need for 2 different interpretations?
One is a knockout where a fighter is counted out of time, unable to rise inside ten seconds.
The other is a technical knockout where a fight is stopped because a fighter is
1. In no position to defend himself.
2.Has sustained an injury to the point where ,to continue, would place his health in serious danger.
I don't need a fool who has never boxed to try and explain the nuances of the 2 terms to me,who has.
Just stick to being the village idiot,it's what you are good at,actually, it's the only thing you are good at!Bronson66 likes this.

I try to use "stoppages."
We talked last year about how difficult it is today to get a clean KO.
If a fighter goes down hard and has no chance of getting up, the referee, rightly so, stops counting and it becomes a TKO. But the guy on the floor is unconscious.
Also I have seen fighters about to be stopped on a TKO only to have their seconds jump in the ring and get the fighters DQed. E.g. Livingstone Bramble had Kenny Vice ready to go for a TKO but before the referee could stop the fight Vice's second came through the ropes. Boxrec calls that a DQ.
I find the term stoppage to be the best term to use.Last edited by Willie Pep 229; 12-24-2024, 11:23 AM.JAB5239 likes this.

Hence Ali was not," down and out," which you stated he was.
Marciano, in the heat of the moment landed a full blooded shot to the body, which momentarily winded Ali and he halted the action and took a knee, telling Woroner if its going to be like this then I want paying accordingly .Woroner anteed up more cash.
You are deliberately trying to make it appear Marciano sent Ali down and out ,and its just BS!
Do you really think those rounds were not interrupted several times, and then spliced back together so both men could gather themselves, and get their breath, because I can tell you they were and Dundee and Pacheco confirmed it!
Do you also really believe that,IF both men," had gone for it",Marciano would not have had the piss beaten out of him?

Lots of innaccuracies in this eg ,Marciano gave nothing to Carmine Vingo.Allie not Ellie Columbo.

You relentlessly ask me to source things then conveniently forget about them a month later. exhausting.
How many times did Ali touch down? let alone from a body shot?Last edited by them_apples; 12-28-2024, 12:52 AM.
