I've probably shortened my life more outside of martial arts than in it, and it brings me joy and keeps me young at heart. So I feel ya. Your post was perfect!
    Good luck!

If I am reading this right, you are fighting a match at you age? Good luck.

Depends if I get matched. It's hard to find fights because of my age (55). You win, you beat the old guy. You lose....well you know. I fought at both 52 and 53 and keep myself fit. But there is a difference between being fit and being in fight condition, even at the amateur level. This will 100% be my last fight so thank you. I'll take all the luck I can get. Win or lose I'm leaving it all out there and I'll walk away with my head held high. After that I'll keep training but focus on helping the younger fighters, and training the kids.

I'm old as dirt. 2-0 (1).I'm never going to be a world champion, I'm never even going to win a small time promotional title. But I can go better than most people, let alone most people my age. I enjoy the competition, and testing myself. Most of all I enjoy the comradery. I've made a ton of friends and connections thru martial arts. As much as I love boxing, I love muay thai more. Win or lose it's always about respect. Very seldom do you see these guys disrespecting one another.

Nice. Reminds me of Dewey Bozella who wanted to win a pro boxing match before retiring, so he did. Hell of a story. He did so after going to prison for a murder he didn't commit, then passing the physical. Anderson Silva and Melvin Manhoef landed some good kicks and knees in MMA.

What division? After your match concludes I recommend you switch chairs to being a trainer in boxing. Our kids really need the help. They can't win global competitions above bronze and the upper weights (160-201+) are virtually void of talent..in the pro's or amateurs.

Again good luck on your match and remember to protect that honker!
