Interesting how Joe Calzaghes legacy has changed

I think Joe was one of the greatest super MW all time.I do not think though he would have beaten a Roy Jones JR in his prime at 168.Not trying to take anything away from the man i mean he fought the best of his era & defended his super MW belt 21 times & retired undefeated.The greatest super MW all time & yet we almost never hear his name since he retired & i think one of the big reasons for that is he isn't American.

That ranking was the end of the year ranking for the year prior BEFORE he lost to Ottke where he then dropped down in the ranking.

Ward was right up there as well.Canelo no way.Canelo was a great 154 ( jr.MW) but has not fought very many fights at 168 to even be considered in the top 10 super middle weights.Joe fought the best of his era & fought over 90% of his fights at SMW defending his belt a record 21 times he deserves the number 1 spot.

Joe fought & beat some of the best 168 pounders of his era defended the belt 21 times & also moved up to 175 & beat Jones & Hopkins there.This was around the time Hopkins was beating everyone.Ward was good but Joe just did a little more.He also one of only 4 boxers in the history of the sport to retire undefeated.

1997 = the rankings are of DECEMBER 31st 1997. It literally states that.

At the time Calzaghe and Eubank fought, Eubank was unranked. Again, objective fact.

It seems facts are something this website really struggles with.

Today Ring Annual ratings are archaic because they do countless updates during the year. Forever their Annual ratings would be published in the next year, ie Feb-March of 1998 in this case, ie for some 80 years straight before they figured out how ****** that was. You pop in their Ratings team then?

Man, I'd say you need Depends at both end as you don't know which end be sitting on your John.
