Joe Calzaghe has a poor resume but is consistently ranked as the #1 or #2 super middleweight ever. I thought he was a good fighter but wish he had come over to the US earlier.

Hopkins he arguably lost and Lacy is garbage so there’s that aswell.
How he was inducted into the HOF I really don’t know but it happens.Last edited by Dr. Z; 04-21-2023, 01:10 PM.MikeyMike100 likes this.

Froch was unknown at the time that is true but at the end of the day he was the WBC mandatory.
Calzaghe fought countless unranked, unknown opponents during that time so the excuse doesn’t wash,MikeyMike100 likes this.

He also beat someone named Roy Jones. And some guy name Eubank. Those guys were pretty good.
Eubank was unranked and hadn't beaten a ranked oppoent in half a decade and Roy Jones was shot to pieces and hadn't won a legitimate fight against a ranked fighter in about a decade.Last edited by IronDanHamza; 04-21-2023, 01:38 PM.Slugfester

I never said he ducked Froch (he didn't) I was responding to the idea that he wasn't worthy of the fight.MikeyMike100 likes this.

U at the bottom end sitting on U stool.
Eubank was unranked because he was training for a cruiser fight that got cancelled, thus tapped the still raw Calzaghe.

Well who should he have fought at 168 or while he was active at 175? Names please. You are acting like he fought nobody. Not buying it. I think you just don't like him. Who was in the top 5 @ 168 from 1993 - 2007? I betcha he fought a few of them.
During his short stay at 175 he fought one person ranked in the Top 5 - Hopkins.
For a grand total of 3.MikeyMike100 likes this.
