Eubank was unranked because he was training for a cruiser fight that got cancelled, thus tapped the still raw Calzaghe.
    No, he wasn't.

Eubank literally hadn't beaten a ranked fighter in years at that point and was unranked at 168.

Calzaghe fought countless unranked, unknown opponents during that time so the excuse doesn’t wash,
Exactly. He was a good fighter, but it's hard to pretend his resume is good when it's not.

Let's not forget Hopkins was 43 and Jones hadn't looked like himself in nearly 5 years. Why wasn't slappy Joe trying g to make a Hopkins and Jones fight in 2001 and 2002??

By his own words he was "scared to fly" then that's why

The guy's a joke in all honesty. Without doubt amongst the conversation of the worst resumes of HOF inductees especially the modern era.

            - - No you weren't

Eubank went from champ to two close decision losses vs Collins. He took Joe on short notice while in training for a cruiser title that was cancelled, hence his poor performance.

He then took Thompson to within one point on two cards being the difference between his close UD loss to an MD win.

Look we know you keep your hambone upstairs, and it's okay, we understand...duh...

No I wasn't what? Are you retarded or what?

Roy Jones was not ranked #5 when Calzaghe fought him and hadn't beaten a ranked fighter in years. That is a fact.

Chris Eubank was unranked when Calzaghe fought him and hadn't beaten a ranked opponent in years. That is a fact.

So let's stick to the facts here, you dumb cunt.

When he fought Manfredo, Manfredo was pretty popular and well known. That first Contender series did monster ratings for what it was... sadly much higher ratings than anything today in boxing.

I trained for a bit under Peters father and had a soft spot for that fight getting made and the Hopes Peter could get the upset. In hindsight though, as popular as Manfredo was, he wasnt the fighter Froch was. I find it difficult to believe Froch vs Calzaghe anywhere in the United Kingdom wouldn't do big numbers. On top of that he was more highly rated at that point.

My whole point is Zags could have fought stiffer competition during his career and didn't. To me legacy is determined by who you fought, beat and when it happened. To me he was a very good fighter with a weak resume. Much the same as Vits Klitschko.
