I've seen enough dead fighters that I tend to go with the compliment view. Plus I do regard Holmes as one of the greatest to ever do it. Besides, when he was pushing 50 Mercer blew the MMA world out of the water forever by blowing 2x UFC Heavyweight champion away in 9 seconds with zero cross training an a pot belly. That counts for something.
