I agree about lists being a bit overly simplified for what boxing is though.

This is based on resume though isn't it? Simple enough simplification to follow. All I meant to say was my list is resume based on how impressive the wins are to me. As in I'm not trying to back it with HOF or top ten or anything of that sort.
    - - Enlightenment is the spiritual essence of everything. ***s and other Christians and ******s see that in the form of a God as did other cultures. Atheists are poorly represented in culture until the Communists arrived, which is why they generally behave as if their derrières have been chapped in salt.

Top 10 lists are like top 20 Ring Expert pics for the fav with 0 for the doomed who upsets that applecart quite often.

I have never seen Foreman rated so highly. You must have skipped his match with Jimmy Young and war where he could have lost to Ron Lyle. And many of his 38 -48 years old fights.
Ron Lyle is better than anybody Vitali beat so why would George lose points for that win?

He was exposed by, looked slow, got knock down & gassed by Lyle. All within 5 rounds. Vs. Jimmy Young a non puncher put him, and out boxed him big time. If the fight was 15 round Foreman would have been knock out. Yeah that guy who lost 19 times. Foreman looked awful vs Ali.

I'm not talking about the 38-45 years old Foreman who was out boxed by Tommy Morrison, should have to Axel Schultz and might have received a gift decision vs Lou Saverse. Before that he was busted up big time by and may have received gift decision against Alex Stewart. How often was he lucked on the cards?

But he sure whipped Joe Frazier big time, knock him down 8 times in two short fights!

For all we know you might have Vitali at 11th or 20th. For those of you who don't know Matt is a good historian / author and one who researches his subject material very well.
I notice that he'd already responded prior to you post, with. 11 to 20.

Funny. Thats where I place Vitali also. 11 in the past 50 years, 21 in the modern era. Spooky, right??

              - - Lyle beat up Ali for umpteen rounds before getting stopped for the sin of ropadoping Ali that had Lyle almost tearing the ref a new one.

Young ran like a cat with a hot poker up his hole. George BTFO of him, so credit to Young being a survivor. George was going for the KO in the last round because DKing told him he had to KO Jimmy if he wanted the Ali rematch, so again credit to Jimmy to suddenly turn and catch him coming in. Jimmy also paid for the sin of ropadoping Ali who had exclusive rights to ropadoping.

And of course Ali demonstrably indicated repeatedly he weren't ever gonna give George another fight, so in effect George was fighting for nothing at all, half the reason he retired.

Your criteria in ranking men is what? Compare contenders in the era beaten, a fighter's record vs. them, and the overall record of his opponents! Use the ring magazine ratings, unless you have better rankings. You don't have to say one era is better than another then, or project head to head.

If you do this Vitali would rate in the top ten. That is spooky for some.

I had Ali behind at the time of the stoppage ,but Lyle didn't beat him up that is nonsense.

True, but both the overall thrust and the purpose of his post is agreeable. Lyle was aquiting himself well in that fight. Ali in decline, comming on strong for a stoppage to even be considered was brilliant. Hated iconic voice / light Contact boxing educated Cossel's dismissive "assessment" of Lyle, leaving viewers with an inaccurate impression of who and what Ron Lyle was.

My criteria for ranking men in order to pinpoint an aggregate rank and comparative measure is as close a shave as objectivity can come to empirical science. Chiefly, the tool I find most handy for this is BEING THE LAST WORD ON THE SUBJECT.
So just sit, shut up and LEARN, Z!
                      Lol

And for Christsake, don't take yourself too seriously.
Cudos on the thick skin though, buddy.
