- - Already been proven that you're utterly timeline illiterate, perhaps Evermore...Evermore
Please........go find evidence the Pep-Robinson amateur fight was filmed. You make things up all the time. Alas, you will find no evidence...nevermore..nevermore!!
Willard claims it was not the glove that was the problem it was a bolt on metal outside of it that was concealed and perhaps tapped on the out side the glove and concealed by the thumb. Jack ran like the thief in a night after beat the 37 1/2 year old Willard who had not fought in 3 1/2 years exiting the ring without escort in hurry. Why? Was he trying to get rid of the evidence? Strange antics for a man who just won the heavyweight championship of the world, don't you think? Willard found a bolt in the ring and kept it his entire life.
I'm not taking any credit away from Dempsey just stating the facts and film. What was Dempsey best win in your opinion and was it clean? Names are requested.
Beating Willard alone is better than anything Vits did, because he beat the actual champion. Vits never beat the champ nor the #1 contender.
You want to try and claim a fighter from one era is better than another from an older era. Sorry but I'm not hearing that. It's an impossible triangle theory to prove.
Not trying to take away any credit!!
Beating a 37 1/2 year old men who had not fought in 3 1/2 years means little! And there is controversy on how he did it. Did you not read Willards testimonial? You can rate it when you like, I know better. When a man is over 37 and had not fought it 3 1/2 years the boxing examples of him winning a title match are ZERO.
Vitali is not fighting his brother and Lewis as we know declined the rematch with him that he said he would offer. The money was up. The WBC ordered that re-match and was getting ready to strip Lewis if his belt, so he retired. Vitali was the #1 heavyweight in the world for a while. Just the facts, which I obvisouly weigh differently than you.

I can't help Vitaly didn't fight his brother, nor Byrd or that he lost to Lewis when he did have the opportunity. The fact still remains that he never beat the champion nor number one contender. And if you read the link I sent the controversy was made up by the media. There is simply no way Dempsey could have cheated in that manner. So using that against him is not only unobjective, but uninformed.
Sorry, I'm not giving Vits or anyone else credit for a fight they didn't win because the champion chose to retire after victory. Had Lewis come back and still not fought Vits I would be on your side. As it stands there is no logical reason to do so. You can make up any scenario you want, but you can't change the fact that Vits lost his one opportunity and when declared champion himself he never fought the number one contender.
Lmao....when I know better like you?
I don't rate Dempsey as high as most, but I'll go by what the overwhelming majority of boxing historians say over what you say.

As we know Queenie ignores requests for proof of his claims ,he is quite satisfied just to have made them.
I don't see any real interest from him about boxing, his only interest is in making silly unsupported claims, but,as I said earlier he is harmless enough.
- - Tried out the Dempsey big bolt theory on my heavybag, thankfully with a careful effort. You'd bust up your hands in a lot of pain. Of course he was accused of using plaster too, also debunked by Cleveland Williams and his trainer back in the day with a simulation.
Check out his posting style from years ago and there were many good ones. As I've alluded, QueensburyRules is legit; at least, at his whim. We've all seen it all before; a knowledgeable poster shares opinion, gets challenged by a range of knowledge levels, pitches back, gets insulted and eventually becomes bored with the cycle. Often its all debating, insults, fatigue and ultimately, a degrading to simply being provocative, the first stop on the trolling express. Meh. It happens.

Its a shame.Good posters are at a premium, although we seem to have 2 excellent recent additions .

Where do you rate Dempsey above VK? Who did he beat, lose to , and how did he perform? What about Dempsey obvious use of the color line? That has to do with a guys placement, but you ignore such things when it suits you. Are you going to post your 11-20 list here? How about 21-30?

I've said before I'll say it again.
When half the people love you, you're a celebrity.
When half the people love you and half the people hate you, you're a STAR!
Dempsey was a star!
Without people like you, we wouldn't still be talking about 'the great Jack Dempsey.' -- Thanks!
