Why the obversion with Ring ratings?

I like the Ring Ratings because unlike the ABC orgs who charge fees to fight for their belts there is less chance of corruption. It's not perfect by any means, but compared to the others it's the best choice. That is of course my opinion.

Maybe we needed a little more balance.

We all agree that scantioning body rankings come with political baggage so we tend to (want to) think that the Ring Rankings have more validity.

But truth is, we know in past they have displayed bias, and even took money. So maybe, in our own minds, we need to take them down a notch.

They lost their status as 'the bible of boxing' --> it is interesting that Jab isn't ready to go all-in with Boxrec just yet.

But I suspect Boxrec is the top of the game when it comes to factual information. But its rankings are not so quickly accepted.

Or maybe someone thought they were losing the argument so they switched topics and attacked the source instead of the point.

I would accept the transnational boxing ratings if they have a past that goes back to that time frame. Truth is though that Z is the one who brought up Ring rated fighters first.

If I had specific examples I'd be happy to provide them. Boxrec has been found before though to have made mistakes and have incomplete records.

As I said, I'll take Cliffs word over yours or Boxrec.

So you didn't say "How can a guy who fought 10 ring magazine contenders" in the Why have modern fighters not evolved to be better than SRR thread post #331? Interesting. Maybe you should go edit that before anyone else sees it. You also bet 10 fighters couldn't be named who fought more ring ranked contenders, and you claimed there weren't 15 heavyweights with a better resume than Vits. All proven false.
