Page 17, ratings analysis notes Valuev exited due to inactivity. If Solis moved in online for that, it is conceivable he was 10 for a minute between issues strictly online but there is no evidence of it in the magazine and no mention of Solis entering and exiting. The closest date I could find in wayback was 2/26: https://web.archive.org/web/20110221...49-heavyweight
No Solis.
if there was a brief change prior to the fight, it wasn’t recorded by then. That wouldn't be an error in my work because the work was based solely on print issues. The fight result is on page 98.
Does that suffice?
This is great information, Did you physically check the older magazines recently ( As in this week ) or are your just re-posting you older notes. Which is it? If you physically checked the magazine recently then I shall say I am mistaken along with others on the web who confirmed it and Box Rec. If you checked the on line and not physically then a mistake could have been made. I think that is the issue.
At one point Top Ranks signed him and thought he was going to be the next big thing. He was injury prone and also couldnt keep his weight in check
Very talented Cuban! So many... Just could not pull it together and show up in the ring at his best, ready to do battle or land on his shield. I actually think Solis was more talented that Sanchez but Sanchez follows a similar pattern. Sanchez does enough... and what will he do when facing guys who also are talented and willing to do more than enough? Gonzalez incited Bowe, much like Dirrell incited Plant... And Bowe was pissed, Gonzalez was not prepared to deal with what he had created... Gonzalez was also a talented fighter lol.
It is an irony that the Cuban fighters, and I say this as a big fan... they come from abject poverty but unlike guys here who take that fire and return it in the ring, these guys... I don't know... Its like Cus Amato telling a Brooklyn street kid (Tyson) "Hey you wear these gloves see? you can kill the other guy!" would not translate the same way regarding Solis, Sanchez, etc... Go figure lol.
BTW... Solis lost that fight due to an injury... not that it matters lol. His leg broke, last I checked that is not caused by a punch, unless of course Marciano was fighting Valuev and went low... to the knee cap.
