And jones won about every round.
yeah, the more I think about it, it's true. Toney never got wooped by anyone, before and after. even as an obese man. It pretty much solidifies that Jones is a great fighter.

I guess Charley Burley beats George Benton

Actually, the question was "who was the best fighter" beaten by RJJ.

I chose McCallum, but Toney, Trinidad and Hopkins are more or less at that level.

Lets face it, he has a weak resume if you consider the facts that 1-He fought in a pretty good era. His resume is not a reflection of that.. and 2-He gets way too much phraise. The term overrated was invented for fighters like Roy Jones Jr.

I still have to give him respect, when I was a kid in the early 00s he was the one(Along with Tython highlights) that turned me from a casual boxing fan to a hardcore boxing fan. But see I was a kid, easily taken in by all the flashy moves, the big mouth, the attitude. Then I grew up and saw that there was very little substance behind the flash. Much like the cannibal.

I missed the logic - how does Jones over Toney translate into Burley over Benton?

Not saying it ain't so joe - but what dots connect?

So my previous question made sense... Are we looking for the best fighter, or the best win?

The best win was Toney, who was in his prime when RJJ dominated him.

Maybe you have a point there.

Although as mentioned there are those who will say Toney killed himself making the weight.

An interesting choice. Care to elaborate why you chose him?

                  - - Dim dots connecting in dim recesses where competing single brain cells vie for primacy.

OK - I wonder if Burley could hurt Benton the way Jones could hurt Toney. Burley (maybe) would have a tougher time earning Benton's respect.

I see the similarity. Two great technicians and two great counter punches.
