The only thing stemming from your brain is your lack of nuance as to what transpired both strategically and physically. Robby's right anchor leg barely shifts from his reverse movement, ie a tiny hop, hence the uncoiling of the total body unfurling of mechanics of the KO uppercut.

No, Robby wasn't engaged in full on sprint away from Gene to knock him out suddenly while still in retreat. There, sorted for U!!!
"what stems from your brain"...Maybe it's all becuase of your brain stem. You seem to be obsessed with "hoppers". You keep talking about hops. Either you were a beer maker or hunted kangaroo in Australia.(maybe lived with them for a while) You get plenty of hops in both places. ANd then of course there are some who used to be called "hop-heads"........???

Imagine Robinson "hopping". They guy's footwork was so good that he never even stubbed a toe, If he had, then he might have hopped..

All your nonsense should go right into the hopper, and stright down to the furnace.

I think you really mean "gravel" as in kidney stones. You're a guy who can't even spell "Queensberry" correctly. Queensbury has nothing to do with boxing, just a village in England, and I think there's a district in London that I've seen mentioned in sordid mystery novels.

Queensberry, as in Marquess of Queensberry , who gave his name to the Set of Rules that governs boxing to this day...HAS a big boxing connection. You should know more about this than you do.

"Larn to shpell yer own name, me bhoyo".....! As the sober Irishman said to the drunken bandy-legged Englishman (a former jockey) ........who wrote ridiculous posts to a boxing site.

A good question. Certainly Robinson never did. But if it were possible, it would be he. Only "possible" exceptions I can think of might be a boxer of phenomenal strength like Jeffries or Johnson.

If a very strong fighter led an opponent to come very close into him, it could be done.with the retreater puttin all his weigh on his back foot and hooking that way. But would take split second synchronization......Maybe??
I've thought about it longer, it's actually not possible. and if done, it would be an ugly lucky way of fighting, nothing you could replicate or put on paper as a skill. the feet just don't work that way.

I found a pretty close example, except it was not Robinson but Archie Moore who pulled it off, and against no less than the mighty Marciano, and it was not a knockout but was a clean knockdown. Anyway, Archie seems to continuously flow backwards, never pausing to set. Watch from about the 7:35 mark to see it.

I just had a look and you're almost but not quite right. He nailed him when standing more or less solidly without moving either forward of backward. But you can see that his weight is transferred to his front foot.
Just a few seconds before this, he attempted to land an uppercut twice, whilst going slightly backwards, but you can see there would have been very little power on them. More like reflex shots.

So you've come the closest. A very good find. Don't know how you did it.

You are not even almost right. He was moving backwards. Period.

It is a trap. Rocky barrels after him as Archie backs up fast. He has to slow down so the Rock will catch up with him. He does that but doesn't stop, he only slows down.

That is how I see it, but I will view it even again.

No once again, he lulls Rocky backwards plants his feet and fires a counter right hand from a stationary position. I still think the closest example is Ali against Williams, Ali would be more inclined to break fundamental rules because of his athleticism, he would throw a punch even with his feet barely in the canvas. Maybe
