Lol, that was not a dirty punch. Hills body was turned from throwing the jab, Jones was coming in at the same time with his right and it was still more on the side than the back.

Nope. Punched him in the back. Draw an imaginary line down the side of the body from shoulder to waist. The punch was beyond the line, a punch to the back.

In 1919 Dempsey-Willard had an agreement that such a punch (was for ***** cheats with HBO long term contracts) and considered the punch a foul.

You probably have an HBO subscription which makes you part of the problem with dirty fighters.

You are literally the only person I've ever heard call that shot dirty. Why are we talking about 1919, and what does that have to do with HBO contracts? Hill turned into the punch while Jones was throwing his punch. It's pretty easy to see my friend. Nothing intentional, which means it shouldn't be considered dirty.

OK not intentional but still a foul?

If it was unintentional but still a foul Hill should of been given a four minute recovery period.

So you need to go back to your post and take out the 'he turned into the punch' because that makes it sounds like you are defending a foul shot.

He hit him in the back. Yes I agree I may well be the only person you 'literally' heard say this; this shows us how powerful HBO really is; that long reach has infected all your friends except me.

A foul is a foul no matter the date. So say it was a clean shot, don't claim it was Hill's fault.

You mean the overhand rights that come down on the back of an opponent's head when they're crouched down right?

And didn't Pep and Saddler also get away with fouling each other in their fights, which is why they kept doing it? They probably thought if the other guy is going to foul me and the ref isn't going to even issue a warning, then I'll just do it as well.

Some of those punches Ward delivered to Kovalev seemed to travel a bit low.

Dempsey hit Sharkey low. Ref admit to it, though the ref didn't have a good outing at all.

I used to think Holyfield's headbutts were accidental. I don't really think so anymore.

I don't even think it was a foul at all. We see punches like this all the time, with no call of a foul. That Hill turned into it makes it even less so in my opinion. There was nothing deliberate about Jones intentions except to land a hard body blow, which he did.

I don't see how HBO is at any fault because no foul was called. Maybe like myself they simply don't think it was a foul.

                  It was a clean shot.

Most fighters have gotten away with fouls.

As pointed out by Ghost On Dempsey, Cassius Clay did it over and over on purpose. Always grabbing people behind the neck and pulling them in, just skirting legality as he then threw a punch, letting go just before the punch landed.

You may not pose your opponent.
