Duran vs Mosley 135

Anyways, I suspect a serious problem in most people's analysis of who beats who at LW. I think most people are comparing a WW Mosley to a LW Duran, and just assuming Mosley was the same fighter at LW. He was NOT the same fighter. The Mosley you saw against Margarito was the closest thing to a LW Mosley we have ever seen, and he only looked that good against Margarito because the man was tailor made for Mosley (Yes I'm aware he was the underdog, but I picked Mosley to beat him). Mosley specializes in beating Mexicans...it's most of the notable wins on his resume. Him being from LA has a lot to do with that.Comment

Mosley's LW legacy would have been enhanced if he wasn't ducked by the other Champions and if he fought Floyd instead of Oscar....Mosley would have beat Floyd back then methinks.Comment

O I wasn't comparing Duran to a Mexican fighter. But, Oscar De La Hoya wasn't the prototypical Mexican warrior either. He had good defense, was an excellent counter puncher, had a serious jab and left hook, and also had a great chin. Yet, Mosley beat DLH.
Mosley's LW legacy would have been enhanced if he wasn't ducked by the other Champions and if he fought Floyd instead of Oscar....Mosley would have beat Floyd back then methinks.Youre a knowledgable guy for sure. And I have no doubt Mosley would beat Floyd-he wouldnt just beat him, he'd destroy him!

You don't think Delahoya won the second fight?? I said I'm NOT SURE wether Mosley won the first. Thats what I meant anyway. It was VERY close. You are starting to get on my nerves a little man.Comment

I dont think Mosley won the 2nd fight but you just said right there that you were talking about the 1st fight and Mosley won that fight clearly although it was competitive.Comment

While you can argue whether De La Hoya was an ATG at Welterweight I don't think it's even remotely arguable that Duran wasn't a top 3 ATG at Lightweight: Many, in fact, rate him the best ever at Lightweight. Duran routinely makes people's top 10 p4p all-time lists while De La Hoya rarely makes people's top 100.
