hahaha, that was funny, but seriously, did you see that fight with tyson against james tillis? course you have'nt you only watched highlights of tysons ko's on youtube or his domination over holmes and spinks

Ruiz was able to land a few on Jones body, Mike probably stops Jones in 1 round, he's blazing quick in his prime.

He caught up to the much bigger Tillis as well. Remember, Mike is actually taller than Jones when he stands up straight. 5'11 1/2

With this Idea in mind, Jones on paper can beat any heavyweight because he is quicker than any heavyweight, even Ali. He beat Ruiz but it wasn't easy.

Jones thought about fighting an old Buster Douglas who had ballooned up to 400 lbs and made a comeback. In the end he felt Douglas would just be too big for him and decided against it.

Jones beat Ruiz but then again so did Toney without much of an effort. Ruiz had a decent resume but honestly he is one of the worst boxers to ever hold a title, an overachiever if there ever was one.

Comparing him at all to James Tillis is an absolute joke. That guy beat no one except an OLD shavers. he was 42-22...

and 2 judges gave Tillis 4 out of the 10 rounds against tyson, and tillis went down once..

If tillis could get that far against Tyson, A prime Roy has much hope of getting a nice UD

Difference is, Tillis was a legit heavyweight contender fighting a teenage Tyson. There are weight divisions in boxing for a reason. Jones is a light-heavyweight whose best wins were against middles and light-heavies. He did absolutely nothing to suggest he'd have a prayer against Tyson.

In October 1997 Jones was offered $1.8 million to face light heavyweight challenger Michael Nunn. Rather than settle for those minibucks, he signed to fight heavyweight Buster Douglas. "Roy needs reasons to fight," says Muhammad, "and Buster gave him reasons." Seven million reasons.

The bout, planned for May, fell through after Jones's father advised him to pass on Douglas. A victory, he argued, would not assure a tide shot at heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, which is Jones's dream fight. "If Roy loses to a heavyweight contender, he's left with nothing," says Muhammad. "But if he beats the heavyweight champ, he has made the pages of Guinness."

To keep his WBC belt, Jones must agree to a fight with top contender Graciano Rocchiginia by the end of May, but he'd prefer to fight either Holyfield or Mike Tyson. "Roy could hold his own against a stylist like Evander," says Emmanuel Steward, Holyfield's onetime trainer. "He has the youth and strength to keep him off-balance, at least in the early going." Against Iron Mike, though, Jones has few supporters. "Roy would be better off sandpapering a wildcat's butt than messing with Tyson," says Joe Goossen, who trains Nunn. " Tyson is too massive and relentless; he'd be all over him like a soup sandwich. Jones doesn't have the frame of a heavyweight—he's just got the appetite, monetarily."
