Roy Jones did get hit in his prime, especially against the ropes. Montell Griffin caught him with the left hook many times in their first fight.

I think it comes down to Tyson being lazy, or maybe he was just conserving energy, or maybe it was to off-set the tempo of the fight; a way of lulling the opponent to sleep and then exploding on him which he so often did with great effect; or maybe a combination of all.

I like this fight when Tyson was real young and liked to work.
