[QUOTE=Genryu;4241370]I understand this. But If I am understanding Chief right (please correct me if Im wrong Chief), a fighters whole career needs to come into question. Shouldn't matter if he won or lost, it shows he is willing to cheat. I don't agree with this, but I think I see the logic if that is in fact what he is saying. I certainly don't agree with it with Carnera, who to my knowledge was kept in the dark and carried to the title by shady management. That doesn't change the fact he won it legit and had the heart of a champion, if not the talent. There are many fighters who have had all the talent, yet none of the heart. I appreciate talent, but I'll always respect heart more. Jmo.
Who was the worst Heavyweight Champion ever?

I was just curious. I read the book a few months agao after seeing the movie like 50 times. I never thought the movie depicted him very accurately when it came to the way he fought. LaMotta gets a lot of praise, but his boxing skills are still underrated because of the movie. Here is a link where you can buy the book real cheap and in decent condition.

Hahaha I still watch it when nothing else is on actually LaMotta made me want to box since I can relate much to his life and what made me really want it was when can't remember which fight it was with SRR but where he gets a triple combo clean on the face and all the effects were he 'backed' up a little for a milisecond and continued on with coming onto SRR, no dazing effect, or the 'get together' effect he went straight again forward.Comment

I have to agree with you guys. Primo Carnera seemed to have zero skills compared to others of his era. This is the deciding vote. Leon Spinks was a pretty good fighter, but money and broads cost him, also he was virtually ******. He was an Olympic Champion and beat some Cubans for that honor. Carnera was big and intimidating, but lacked fundamental skills that every heavyweight champ should have. Even Valuev had more skills than this guy.Comment

Valuev had nothing on Carnera. He may have had one of the weakest skill-sets of any HW champ, but he had the most heart. Did you not see the Baer fight? Or when he beat Sharkey for the title legitimately? Seeing Valuev in the ring, makes me sad for Boxing. He is a freakshow. Any man of that size can put gloves on and swing his arms. Valuev's era is a poor era in contrast to Carnera's. The likes of Sharkey could destroy most HW's today (if his head was right).Comment
