Wladimir demolished Wilder during their sparring sessions. Wilder got dropped several times. It's no secret that Wilder doesn't want to step up yet. He thinks that fighting cab drivers will sharpen his skills to fighttrue opposition.., I don't.
Povetkin is too fast for Wilder : Povetkin by knockout in the 5th. Unfortunately, Wilder would never take this fight.
Source??
The fight was boring, wlad looked disinterested and lazy and povetkin was only their for the roubles.
That being said, as someone else mentioned, he IS the hw champ so has earned the right for his boring fights to be televised.
Tyson takes Lewis in my opinion.
I seem to remember Tyson doing pretty well in the first 3 rounds against Lewis, also had him in trouble at some point in those rounds IIRC.
The Tyson that fought Spinks would of made Lewis look silly, sadly for Mike the version of Lewis he fought (who peaked much later in his career) made him look silly.
I just don't see how Lennox could survive long enough to negate Mikes speed and power.
Tyson KO inside 5.
Sounds like Rocky V all over again....
I didn't mind Rocky Balboa, very different and emotional story line, it was the ending the series needed after the disappointment of Rocky V.
But no more please, the originals are forever cemented in history. Ironically, just like boxing itself, there just a time for it to hang up the gloves.
Exactly.
Come on Sly, its not like you need the money
Who'll be the fighter to take away Canelo's 0?

Fury had me starting to believe in him on Ringside!
I wouldn't go that far haha... but....
Haye did look tired against Chisora, year since he fought, struggled against bigger men in the past etc etc.
But then I composed myself and realised.. Haye lands once and Fury leaves on a stretcher.
I like Fury, find him hilarious infact, but surely Haye will stop him.
I agree with this. I am a fan of Haye and have watched him since the enzo fight (and subsequently watched all others) and despite what some may think I have a balanced opinion on him.
He was looking tired against Chisora and my gut feeling when watching the Valuev fight was that he lost. As for the Wlad fight, the less said the better.
That being said, he is a smart, fast and powerful boxer who has the tools to hurt any of the worlds top HW, including Wlad (proven), and will have far too much for Fury come Sept.
There is a lot Haye could actually learn from Fury when it comes to confidence and heart. I think Haye has some self confidence issues despite the tv persona and his fighting ability.
Exposed? Against who? Boxrec has him no 4 I believe. He's a good fighter. If he was American he'd be next in line for Mayweather/Pacquiao fight. He can hang with most of the top guys, and his skillset is better than guys like Alexander and Bradley.
Boxrec has him at #8 but yeah I agree he's a good fighter. Haven't seen that much of him but I watched the Hatton fight and I thought he boxed well and has a good output.
I'd like to see him put Khan out of his misery.
Is he angling for a fight in the UFC against Velasquez?
Why is he even contemplating kick boxing?
Possibly, but didnt he say recently that any 'contest' would have to be a stand-up form of fighting?
Personally I think it's just a publicity stunt and probably wont happen anyway.
Also, does anyone know if the fight is being shown on Virgin Media in the UK? I can't imagine it wont be but I cant seem to find any info on it.
He has been knocked down before cunningham in exactly the same way by the right hand and will be caught again! Hayes probably one of the worst heavyweights he can choose at this point. Only thing hes got going for him is size and heart. Hes good to watch, shame this fight will probably end his career
He's young, he will box on regardless.
Blankety Blank!
Fill in the 'blank'
At the press conference (12:47 on the iFilmLdn recording) Fury grinned, "I have to bring this up. It's going around the campfire, what's all this that you've had 28 'blank' with men?"
Anyone know what the missing word is?
I'm guessing that Dyson reads these forums because this topic has been discussed here before and I've never seen any proof of the 'quote'
Anyway, its probably refering to this http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=178592
And the 'blank' is probably 'sex' with a slight reworking of your sentance.
Update: Read the last few comments in that thread. Apparently Fury tweeted that thread so I guess he does read these forums.
A lot will depend on whether he stays with Maloney or not.
I could see him doing the next prizefighter comp or perhaps just some domestic fights (Rogan, Sprott etc) for the next 18 months or so.
Unfortunately he has probably seen any major chance come and go, he turned pro late and time has not been on his side.
Amusing how Haye rushed to sign the contract once Thompson became an alternative option for Fury.
I thought this, worried about losing his cash cow?
Not sure Fury stands a chance, his best bet his to go in all guns blazing I reckon. Quickest way for him to go home early but still Haye doesn't always like being severely pressured and can get sloppy himself in those situations.
Anyway, Haye has the Big Gypsy covered on this one I think.
What about being biased in favour of the home fighter? Being in the game for so long Scott should have known to get up earlier. You are right that only he knows why he didn't
4. Ref was biased in favour of the home fighter
Definitely a possibility. My point was that saying the Ref was gambling on the fight was highly unlikely, or at least there were more plausible alternative.
It is no joke. Why else did the ref stop the fight when Scott beat the count. He looked perfectly fine when he got up as well and could have continued. I wanted Chisora to win the fight but I didn't want it to end like that.
Honestly bro I'm with you on the way the fight ended. It should definitely not have ended like that, the ref ****ed up for sure but I don't think there was anything sinister going on.
I can give you 3 more reasonable explanations than the Ref had a bet on...
1. The referee got over excited and made a mistake.
2. He decided Scott had had enough and waved it off (again a mistake but perhaps he feels he can justify it - long wait to stand, blurry eyes?? who knows!)
3. Scott made some kind of gesture (or spoke) to indicate he didn't want to continue.
I think Scott should have just known better than to stay down that long, as you said he didn't appear hurt and the punch mostly glanced off anyway so why did he stay on his knee for so long? only he knows that but he didn't help his case.
Did he say the ref doesn't have a gambling problem?
Why do you keep posting everywhere saying the ref had a gambling problem? You must have posted in at least 3 different threads with the same thing.
Are you trying to be funny? If so, you should understand that a joke is only funny once.
I know for me to think he deserves a shot at a world champion he needs to reverse his losses to Fury and Haye or at least try to get a fight with the winner of Haye-Fury.
He would have more chance of fighting the loser. No chance the winner would want to fight him.
Chisora / Thompson or Wilder would be good fights although he was a bit fortunate with Scott.
If Chisora comes in shape, we got a fight on our hands. Would probably lean towards Chisora because of Wilder's competition, we still don't know how good he is. This will be the fight to tell us.
Yep. Chisora is slowly becoming gatekeeper for the HW division and he will make a decent career/money from it but he needs to deal with the wilders/thompsons/scotts etc.
Ought to be a great fight (if it happens). Del-boy has the ability but he needs to let Don Charles go back to his flower shop and get someone new in.
I hated him for wrecking Iron Mike.
I felt the same way, I, like many others, lapped up the hype before the fight and for the first few rounds it looked like Mike might really have a chance.
We all know what happened next, but still, Lennox was a great champ and you dont get many of todays fighters who avenge all losses/draws.
Fury has his moments but baiting lennox is stupid and pointless, would love to see the following headline tomorrow morning
"Haye fight off - Lennox Lewis announces comeback against Tyson Fury"
I agree with the earlier posts, if Lewis put in 6-9 months of hard training he could take Fury.
Yeah.. It certainly wasn't because Wlad was holding out for options, bigger cut even though Haye brought most money to the table, wanted to walk in second, wanted his name first on promotional banners, didn't want to fight on ARD even though they offered more than RTL, didn't want Haye to keep all the TV money from Britain, wanted german doctors for both corners, wanted Haye to walk out through the crowd, wanting himself to walk around the crowd.....
These weren't reasons at all. It was all Haye's fault.
It's also Haye's fault that Fury wants 80/20 even though he's never been on PPV, never headlined a big show on Sky, hasn't sold more than 5k tickets ever, doesn't have nearly the same size fanbase, never fought on HBO/Showtime, has never been a household name, never held a big title, never did anything as an amateur, never fought a top ten ranked opponent....
It's all Haye.
Haters gonna hate.
Could not have said it better. Agree 100%
He's kind of known on the UK boxing scene now, if Chisora wins I wouldn't be surprised to see him fight Thompson, ditto for Fury.
This.
Would be nice to see thompson get some channel 5 coverage and take on chisora. Wilder would be a good fight too.
I don't blame Lennox at all. They didn't really have enough time together to implement a proper plan over 12 rounds. Then Price shoots his load trying to knock Thompson out early. That's just another example of inexperience (and very poor conditioning).
LL tweeted saying
Maloney's blaming ME for this loss? Incredible! I asked for 8 weeks training.. He gave me 3.— Lennox Lewis (@LennoxLewis) July 7, 2013
Maloney is a weasel and with all due respect to Lewis, I think even 8 weeks wouldn't have been enough.
