...he hadn't had counted to 10 yet and Malik was up and ready to fight. Scott was up at 9 and he looked clear to me, to me personally it looked as if the ref wanted to give Chisora the win. If Scott would have looked hurt, stumbling or anything, I would understand that the ref stops it, but he was never hurt in the fight and during the knockdown he looked clear all the time.
I mean I know the ref sees more than me and maybe Scott signalled him somehow that he doesn't want to continue, but from the outside it did not look like that.
What about being biased in favour of the home fighter? Being in the game for so long Scott should have known to get up earlier. You are right that only he knows why he didn't
4. Ref was biased in favour of the home fighter
Definitely a possibility. My point was that saying the Ref was gambling on the fight was highly unlikely, or at least there were more plausible alternative.
see 14:45 on Wlad vs Mormeck. The ref stops it on the 8 count even though Mormeck stands up. It's pretty common for a ref to stop it if he deems a fighter unable to continue. Really people should know better.

Yes, there was a thread with about 50 posters saying the ref must say 10 before stopping the fight last night. Which is wrong.

@BoxingOpinions1 Every pro fighter knows if u go down u have until the count of 8 to get up if u let it get to 9 the ref is going to stop it

@BoxingOpinions1 If the Fighter let's the count get to 9 it usually means the fighter wants out of the fight.
Honestly bro I'm with you on the way the fight ended. It should definitely not have ended like that, the ref ****ed up for sure but I don't think there was anything sinister going on.
I can give you 3 more reasonable explanations than the Ref had a bet on...
1. The referee got over excited and made a mistake.
2. He decided Scott had had enough and waved it off (again a mistake but perhaps he feels he can justify it - long wait to stand, blurry eyes?? who knows!)
3. Scott made some kind of gesture (or spoke) to indicate he didn't want to continue.
I think Scott should have just known better than to stay down that long, as you said he didn't appear hurt and the punch mostly glanced off anyway so why did he stay on his knee for so long? only he knows that but he didn't help his case.

It is no joke. Why else did the ref stop the fight when Scott beat the count. He looked perfectly fine when he got up as well and could have continued. I wanted Chisora to win the fight but I didn't want it to end like that.

the instant scott starts to get up he starts waving it off. it didnt matter what number he was on. corruption. he clearly didn't reach the count of 10 and he clearly didn't look to see if scott was able to continue. he just stopped it. this ref will be seen a lot more in warren events. i guarantee he will be the ref for cleverly-kovalev.

My impersonation of the ref:
5.....6....7....8....910!
This. It should be ruled a TKO.
Scott had a false sense of security because he wasnt on a knee. He was crouching so at 9 he popped up quick.
The ref was perhaps a couple of hundreds of a second too early with waving it off at 10 but his count from 5 to 9 was actually quite slow and you do not start getting up at 9. No controversy here, Scott either quit or was confused from being disoriented. Either way Scott did not handle the situation well.
I was cheering for chisora but i had it 3-2 scott until the stoppage... I think scott's a clown but i disagree with the stoppage. Fury vs pajkic & firtha & now this... The english refs are to trigger happy... The problem is it's never the visitor on the winning end...
I wasn't cheering for either, nothing fight to me.
I had it 2-2-1 after 5 (Chisora winning the later rounds) and then Chisora knocked him down for a 10-8 round and was pushing him around...
I didn't like the stoppage, but I absolutely feel this one was Scott's own fault, he wasn't up when thhe ref waved for the 10.
He certainly wasn't winning.
He was starting to get bullied and worked over against the ropes, had run out of ideas, was knocked down...he was losing the fight and took the first out that presented itself.

Why do you keep posting everywhere saying the ref had a gambling problem? You must have posted in at least 3 different threads with the same thing.

Why would he be upset its the 2nd fight against a good opponent he got screwed in? Both times he was the visitor... Scott was winning up til that point... Russ amber was yelling at the ref... He took a fu*king knee. Russ amber is scotts cut man...i was cheering for chisora but i'm not bias...

Yes he waited til 9 but the ref at least could have grabbed his wrists, looked into his eyes while stepping back then ask him to step forward with his hands up. Then he can determine if he can't continue. The only way i can justify the ref's actions is if scott said to the ref he was done. If that comes out later i will then have clarity on the situation.
STOP CRYING.. AND GET OVER IT
HE QUIT
Didnt seem all upset at all when the ref waved it off... PLUS WHY THE **** did he wait till the end if he wasn't hurt.

Did he say the ref doesn't have a gambling problem?
