Who do u think it will be getting the biggest payday in boxing history in a night..in other words, who has earned the highest money in a single fight in boxing history..
My Prediction is Oscar De La Hoya who had 32 million reasons to smile even when he got ktfo by Hopkins..i truly beleived he didnt deserved that much money in a single fight from the way he fought like a bitch and took off with 32 million dollars of fans money.
that 32 million was nothing compared to the 58 million he received for fighting mayweather
Dargan was Shanes trainers nephew.
Yea, he also was a top amateur that won the 2007 pan am games. Also a few national tournament...golden gloves, nationals, etc.
It won't matter who he used as sparring partner come September 17th. However, if its true he's using the same guys as Hatton and Mosley that seems strange
Well you figure they all are under golden boy, and Dargan has ties with naazim and bernard. So that is prob why...
They use them cuz they mock Floyds style at a cheap rate...
it's not the sparring partners fault that the fighters lose.
exactly and i think he is a good boxer, than can mock PBF style
You are not a true boxing fan if you do not have both. I have direct tv, HBO is about $15 and showtime is $8. Showtime has good solid fights now, its not like back in the day. They havent caught all the way up to HBO bc they dont have the same budget, but they are you making the best of there resources.
I assumed Big willie was Tyson?
As for the article, Floyd did get a little personal. It's not easy to have a break up and the Jin thing was over the top.
As for money, Floyd loves to chat shit, even though everyone knwos he was asset rich, but cash poor. Hopkins needs to be there with his sharp mouth
Yea i think Hopkins is one of the only boxers that could hold his ground when Floyd starts going off on his tirades.
Good article, but it says Nazim missed the Hopkins-Calzaghe fight. He was on the team for that one though.
he wasnt there for camp. he just went to the fight. remember, freddy roach was the lead trainer in that fight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He was meant to be in the corner, but he was in hospital. He was an advisor to Roach in that fight because of the difficulties.
no he had NOTHING TO do with that camp. it was just freddie roach and john david
they fought at 165 in amatuers. Berto beat Dirrell twice. when berto first turned pro, he had a few fights at middleweight. he was huge as an amatuer. bradley fights at 140 now, but fough at 152 in the amatuers. im willing to bet the house that berto couldnt beat dirrell now........at no weight.
I don't buy this type of argument. Styles make fights. Just because Shane is a greater name than the dudes that's on Floyd's resume, doesn't mean he would have beaten them. And I hate to pull the steroid card, but I find myself putting an asterisk next to some of Shane's fights. I'm a skeptic, and the fact is we don't when he started or stopped using. Two fights that I find difficult for Shane right off the bat is the versions of Diego Corrales (even if Shane was 135) and Zab Judah that Floyd fought.
shane would have destroy zab mentally and physically
I beieve so too, all KO victories except against DLH. His record would probably be 40-0-39
yea, didnt think of that. he prob would had stop every last one of them
Shane's is only a little taller, but he's bigger and significantly stonger than Floyd. If Floyd had Shane's extra size, reach, and strength, I pick him to go though Shane's resume undefeated, and I'd also pick him to beat Martinez and Pwill at 154, and maybe Pavlik and Martinez at 160. The reason why I'm hesistant to pick May over guys like Winky, Forrest, Martinez, ect. is because I'm not sure if Floyd would be too small and weak to get their respect.
I'm not trying to hear this bs. FLOYD FOUGHT AT 154 B4, MEANING HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO FIGHT WINKY, FORREST, AND PWILL AT 154. if pac can come from 122 and fight cotto and clottey......then pbf can fight wink, forrest, and pwill
Thats a flawed statement because Shane is a bigger man than Floyd which means he is fighting all smaller guys. Floyd fought alot of guys who were bigger than him but they would be all smaller than Shane. Thats like saying Floyd would be undefeated with Pac's, EM's, MAB's, and JMM resume
no its not the same. floyd prove that he is a natural welterweight now, by coming into a fighting scheduled to take place at 144.......he came 146. b4 everyone just assume that he was a junior ww fighting at ww, but thats not the case. and who knows how long its been this way.
This is true. Mosley fought at 139 as an amateur. 135 was never easy for him to make and the move to 147 was necessary.
berto fought his amatuer career at 165. andre ward fought at 178. so just bc shane fought amatuers 4 pounds above where he started of his pro career means nothing.
Dont come up and say mayweather got him tired or some bs like that
Shane just gassed out, wtf had he been doing in his training camp
shane was gassed............i think its because of this
http://mediatakeout.com/40506/shane_mosley_rumored_to_have_interrupted_training____to_be_with_jump_off.html
LOL
Good luck with that Shane..smh
For the biggest fight of his career you would think he would bring some serious guys in..
PS..
If Floyd vs Mosley do better than Mosley vs Oscar, does that mean Floyd is a better draw?
well mosely's sparring partners arent as bad as you think. karl dargan is a 2007 pan am games winner at 140, and would had made the olympics at 140 but turned pro on the under card of mayweather hatton. he is fast, good defensive, and can emulate mayweather down to a tee. rock allen is a 2004 olympian and is 15-0 so far. he isnt a main sparring partner though, because he has a pretty basic style. mike dargan holds an amatuer win over chad dawon, but he's been out of boxing for a while since being shot. thats why his professional record is 1-1 and he hasnt fought since 2005 i believe. but he was a top prospect, and still is. there's word going around is that mike dargan is getting the better of mosely in sparring.
how did he do vs devon????? i know he aint no 140lbs anymore.
rock allen beat peterson, alexander, and tim bradley in amatuers(b4 bradley started fighting at 152 in amatuers). karl dargan is the 2007 pan am games winner at 140 pounds . He turned pro b4 the 2008 olympics on the undercard of mayweather vs hatton.
theyre still countin the heads of those who watched in theatres. just like in floyd-jmm, they counted one head as one PPV tho its price is a lot lower
i heard this last week. dont believe it............link????
Has anybody seen anything on the next Olympic team?Like any star
up and comers?Or who is gonna be the coaches?Just wondering
if we will ever have a chance to win gold medals again.
well i know at 165 theres a kid named jesse hart thats on the team. he's about 6'3 and rangy. puts u in the mind of dirrell.
WHy does larger purses equate to failure? Higher athlete salary doesn't hurt any other sport. Haymon is paying the fighters out of his own pocket. If he continues to get investors and the networks pay him then the model is sustainable.
The networks arent paying him. He's paying the networks.
They need to bring back GUS JOHNSON. At least he used to have his facts straight. This guy started explain how f. guerrero was from the Maryland area, then relocated to the bay to train w/ Virgil Hunter. But, Barry Hunter is his trainer and f. guerrero NEVER trained with Virgil Hunter. In fact he was in England w/ Amir Kahn.
I'm watching Pacquiao-Hatton and Mayweather-Hatton side by side, and it is clear to me that Pacqiao is much faster than Floyd. Mind you, Hatton was taught to slip punches only after the Mayweather fight by Floyd Sr. Yet Hatton was able to react a bit to Floyd's punches in that fight.
This is why Floyd had to run from Hatton in that fight and lead him into punches. Manny had no such problem, and that's why he knocked him out so easily.
There's always a reason for a fighter to move back.... that's the real reason why Pacquiao was able to dispose of Hatton so early, he didn't need to move back all the time because it was a complete mismatch in speed to begin with.
To conclude, its pretty obvious that Pacquiao has more handspeed than Mayweather (not even talking about combinations), and either has more power or the speed creates it.
Real talk.
doesnt matter anyway. PBF will beat the brakes off of him.....................and andre berto is faster than both of them!!
maybe, but i dont see Berto knocking anyone out, he seems like he throws solid shot with great form but it doesn't seem to effect his opponent. I do agree that speed or no, Mayweather has the ability to outbox most fighters, then again Pac has been known to beat the better boxer, should make for a great fight.
nah........because despite the loud noise that berto punches appear to make, they lack power and are not really all that solid. they are choppy punches. also berto is erratic in the ring and doesnt really throw with any accuracy(unlike floyd mayweather). he just fights in spurts, and exploded into four and five punch combos....................even with all that said he still is faster than pac, mayweather, and judah
